I wouldn't go as far to say that the the SH will outhandle any 4th gen. My car was originally a SI/4WS so i swapped a JDM VTEC engine with LSD in it. I think my 4WS and LSD give a very big advantage. If I ever go through New Mexico, I'll be sure to look you up.

i was talking stock for stock, you're obviously not stock, hehehe, if you want to get into modded cars, then it all depends on what mods are done, but the SH should be able to take out a stock 4ws or a stock Si VTEC, or and Si, or an S

OK i have a Base 2001 prelude

i'm just wondering how much better does an SH handle over its base counterpart?

cause isnt' the only difference the ATTS?
everything else is the same no?
Engine, Suspension, and the Base is lighter

i'm not sure how your streets are setup, but a good way to tell is find a good intersection with 2 lanes in all directions. hit a left turn in second gear at about 50 with the accelerator mashed. i've never drive a base 5th gen, but the SH hooks the whole way through it, even with the accelerator gassed. this car takes turns stock almost as fast as my CRX did with springs/shocks/sway bars/f-r st bars/and new bushings, the biggest difference it when you gas it in the turn, the SH will pull right through it instead of trying to go straight

Ther is no extra horses

I have dynoed my 4th gen against a friends 5th gen both with similar mods being an air intake and exhaust and they both made 104kw at the wheels. So the 190hp to 200hp in my books is a load of crap, its just a myth Honda made up to make them look more efficient.
Oh no someone will say, because honda stated this. Well to tell you the truth I love the Company but they spin alot of shit at the same time.

The wieght difference between the Vtir 94 and the Vtir 98 is spot on 50kg or 110 pounds or around a full tank of fuel. And with the samemods the 4th gen is quicker.

All the best. :flash:

PS My 4th gen is now 300hp. It is only for racing and stop light heroes. I did a 38 second around Calder park whilst the Wrx's do 40's.

Buddy u talk way too much!! Sorry just can't stand people dissing the 4th gen! Comparing a 4th gen lude to an 85 civic, well that's just plain ignorance! And i really like my cars big round ass too, rather than your cars little square flat ass!

But don't get me wrong, I really like the 5th gen too, a stock 5th gen definetly looks better than a stock 4th gen, but completely do out both cars(no rice!)...put them side by side, and gauranteed anyone who knows anything about style in cars, will chose the 4th gen!:monkeypis

hey wats up guys, 4th gen all the way baby!!!!!! it was love at first sight with the 4th gen while the 5th gen took a while to grow on me

Cybercrx00: Just some corrections bro

That "SI" engine, used for drag only, is 99.9% likely NOTTT Vtec. Think about it, why would a drag car that spends most of its time in high rpm's need a third lobe. They usually do this for advertisment reasons. (Valve cover)

Secondly. the gearing for the 4th gen is slightly shorther, (better for drag racing, and not that good for MPG, as compare to a 5th gen) The better coffiecieny + lighter weight + shorter gearing = a slightly better 1/4 mile time. Furthermore, Modding a 4th gen (specifically 1992 - 1995) is NOTTT the same as modding a 5th gen lude and 1996 4th gens! this is due in part to the change over from OBDI to OBDII in 1996. The OBDI "responds" to mods better. Don't Even get me started on the 4th Gens BEAUTIFUL & UNIQUE STYLING, BOTH INSIDE AND OUT

Just thought i would clear some things up, Thanx a lot, and keep up the good work guys

Alan

i own a 4th gen

hey, my 4th gen prelude doesn't have ugly style like those pictures you posted, with clear taillights, my prelude is in the shop right now, some mexican woman clippedm y z3 fender, and so i decided i would give away my old wings west bumper, for a brand new fiber glass (eek) Black Widow front kit, as soon as i get it back i'll show you my lude

I think the engineers concentrated on more of the cornering aspect on the 5th gen lude.
Considering the fact that the 5th gen has ATTS and slightly stiffer sport suspension. Even a friend of mine who has the 4th gen lude said the 5th gen felt more stiff and tight

I just wish the 5th gen was as fast as the 4th gen on the straights.

the front suspension geometry in the SH is a little different than in the base. the cams on the SH are ever so slightly more aggressive than the base, nothing considerable however. the block is shaped different, the oil filter is in a different position, little stuff like that. i've driven both quite aggressively through corners, and i can tell the difference that the ATTS makes, notice i said aggressively. if you don't bother to push your car to the limit on turns, you'll have wasted your money on the SH.
everytime i see a circular off ramp or something similar, it's over. what i like about the SH is there is virtually no understeer 99% of the time. the front end is pulled into the turn to the point where you become afraid the rear end will come around and out of control.

Well, i'd like to say cybercrx's car but unfortunatly it's not rice.( 4th gen hater!)...just take a really close look at that red lude with ugly ass huge stickers all over it, and that's your definition of riced out! pretty much anything with cheezy ass stickers or stupid little lights everywhere, big ass aluminum wings, etc...
