Probably save money swapping in a used LS1/LT1. Add cam.

Probably faster that way as well.
Just because you pump in a ton of boost doesn't mean the motor is going to be able to use it well. You need to redo EVERYTHING on that 305 before adding boost.

I had previously thought of boosting my 305, and hypsi said that the head gaskets are the weakest link and I shouldn't go with thicker gaskets, pistons and or larger chambered heads are the way to go. depending on how much boost you want to run will determine whether or not you need to beef up the internals (forged crank, rods, pistons, etc..). 6-7 psi i believe will be ok with stock setup.

This depends on the compression. More boost can be ran with lower compression.

I was actually refering to all of the valvetrain, not the shortblock itself. They don't flow well enough to make boost worth it.

Oh, I know the entire motor would have to be rebuilt and wouldn't be cheap aswell. This is gonna be a long term project. I know it would be cheaper to swap in a bigger motor (LT1/LS1), but i'm not tryin to recieved over night power and this is not something thats needs to be done right away. I, as a person, want to see what this little 305 is capable. I know it's the underdog of smallblocks and i always here "you should swap this and that in there instead. I'm not worry about cost (again, long term project that i'm not jumping into until i have a decent amount of knowledge on required subjects), as i have to worry about school and getting a decent paying job when i get out. I will do this, for the fact that motor is an underachiever in other people eyes and i believe that it has potential, as with any other motor, just not as cheap. You guys are all like family to me, and i appriaciate the fact that you look out for me and stuff, but this is just something i gotta do. My grandfather was in a similar situation once. And he shocked everyone with his results. Gonna fill his shoes again.

Well basicly he would go with a truck, him and his brother sometimes and others alone and would sneak in take about an hour or so just taking out the engine.. drive back to the house and then the next day the engine would be inside of his 2nd gen Camaro and over the weekend he would race it at the drag strip.. yup.

That is a scary ass movie, i've had nightmares about it. It's the elvis caddy that goes around killing people in the worst ways? I've seen cars driving with no people in them. I gotta leave the angel dust alone man. I completely understand ya Wrightz. I'm not just gonna find some turbos, slap them on and think i'm speed racer like some people (i've gotta a freind who told me that if you put just a borla exhaust w/ "borla chip" yes "borla chip", you'll have over 500rwhp on WS6, these kinda people are out there). This is something that will be thoughly planned and thought out. I know it can be done and it will be done. As of right now, i'm satisfied with my 3slow5. I love it. Definitely the perfect stepping stone for people who have never driven cars that havethe power to throw into the sidewalk if you don't know what you're doing (has already happened to me, thank God she's OK). Now, i'm just gonna worry about school and finishing it, and getting a good job when i get out of school. Then i can start my project, however long it takes. i'll probably get a spare LB9 block for nothing and start from there. It'll be done. If i'm still alive in a few years, i'll be posting the project as its going on. I really appreciate your kindness Wrightz28, you kinda remind me of my father, and he's great man.
