Re: Headers

I was going to do the same thing, but I found out fast that a clamp right past the y didn't want to work very well. When my chasis flexed like, pulling into a driveway, the pipes would creak and pop like they were slipping, that's when I ditched the stock pipes for 3in. It's really not that expensive if you take it to a muffler shop and have them weld it for you, if you want to keep the stock stuff. If you have the money it would deffinatley be worth it to invest in 3in pipe from the y back, much better than the stock 2 and 1/4in or less diameter stock pipe.

Re: Headers

not sure why you took the valve cover off... go from underneath, its alot easier that way... coming from up top is pretty tricky

I looked at doing it that way but it looked tough so I didn't even try, probably not a very good decision. And it is pretty tricky to get them in from the top, valve cover had to come off and knuckles had to be busted. Oh well, live and learn.

If you get the headers that match the stock pipe size I don't see a reason why they wouldn't bolt up, how well they will bolt up i don't know.

Re: Headers

what i was worried abotu was the length, because i wanted them to bolt right on or clamp right on. no welding.

Re: Headers

I don't know if those will fit or not, says that they fit chevy aluminum heads only. It also says it has a 3in collector so I don't think they'll work as just a bolt on
