Nice work on the Williams.Your pics are a bit on the large size they could do with being a touch smaller.

Re: Tamiya Williams FW11 Nigel Mansell 1986

Thanks for the feedback. Yes you are right they are a bit on the big side. I will change the size on my future posts. Do you know if they can be resized when I add them to AF?

Apologies for the size but I am just finding my feet with AF (and Photo Bucket).

Re: Tamiya Williams FW11 Nigel Mansell 1986

First up, welcome to AF.

Some nice touches there on that Williams, especially the seatbelts and carbon work on the front wing. Unfortunately the brush painted blue areas kinda detract from the otherwise high standard, the extra large pics making it even more obvious.

Best way to resize the pics is in a graphics program before uploading.

Re: Tamiya Williams FW11 Nigel Mansell 1986

Hi RallyRaider,

Thanks for the feedback. Yes the blue is not very good and having already done the FW13B I should have learnt from that model that the blue decalled middle is not the way forward... but I put it down to not using Micro Set/Sol on it. Oh well you live and learn.

I am going to try and add some normal size pictures to this thread in a mo... then I am going to take some in progress of my next model. I chose the Lotus becuase it has a one colour scheme and no dodgy blue decal!

All the best,
BillyPee

Re: Tamiya Williams FW11 Nigel Mansell 1986

Hi Steve,

Yeah me too. My first memories of Williams cars were Nige and the Yellow, Blue, White colour scheme. I did think of doing my FW24 in that scheme just to see what it would look like but in the end I stayed with plain old blue and white. BTW, it looks like williams will be all dark blue this year which not only will look nice but will make our lives easier if Tamiya ever get around to another F1 kit. :-)

I plan to do a work in progress on my Lotus and if I feel in the mood will take some piccies of my first model (FW13B) and my second (FW24).

All the best,
BillyPee

Re: Tamiya Williams FW11 Nigel Mansell 1986

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the feedback. I must say that your 312T3 is looking very good indeed.

My shelf looks like this at the moment. I thought I would start with a F1 from each decade. The 1963 car is in progress as we speak. The old car missing is a 70's car, and guess what is sitting in my wardrobe??? a 312T3. It'll probably be 6 months before the Lotus is finished tho' and if I go beyond 4 cars I will need a biggers shelf! Also, as you can see I am quite fond of Williams's so I am seriously considering a FW07. The only thing stopping me is that I can't for the life of me remember those cars although I must have seen them.

Oh well, good luck the the T3 and keep up the hard work.
BillyPee
