There is the normal 305tbi with only 175hp stock but with headers and exhaust he would be EASYLY in the 200range. and there is the 305tbi H.0 which has 210hp, and there is the 350's and they have around the 260's range, all these engines can come with tpi instead of tbi but there is only like a 5-10 hp diffrence.
uh, your numbers are a little screwy there so i'll help you out:

here are the possible engines for a '90 trans am, non- ws6 or other special package:

305tpi: manual:230 hp, 300 ft lb; auto: 210 hp, 285 ft lbs
350tpi: 245 hp, 345 ft lbs.

as you can see, they are torque machines, but because of the tpi system, they dont have very good top end and die after about 4500rpm

There is no such thing as a formula trans am, as far as I know threre are only formula firebirds. There is a big differance between a trans am and regular firebird, as far as engine options. If it's just a firbird the weakest motor it would have would be a 3.1 V6, and it wouldn't have anything stronger than a 170hp 305. So if it's a firebird with the V8 it will run somewhere in between mid 15's and 16, if it's a V6 it'll run a good bit slower.

NO third gen ever had 260 hp.

I forgot about all the weak suck engine options though. They even had a V-6 option in the TAs back then. Here is the breakdown: 305ci TBI: 170 hp, 305ci TBI HO: 210 hp 305ci TPI: 230, 350ci TPI (L98): 345.

I was assuming he would have the L98 since he was bragging so much. The L98 has about 60 foot pounds more torque than the 305 H.O. The TPI will look like a big spider on top of the engine, and the eighth digit in his VIN will be a number 8. If that is what he has you have no chance. But maybe he does have the low output 305, and you might stand a small chance if he is a crappy driver.

Sure, we don't really discriminate against cars. We've got everything in our club from a Z06, Dakota R/T, even a Hachi Roku. I like calling it a club more than a team just cuz we have such a diverse array of cars and lately we've kinda mellowed down with the racing. Basically you just gotta be cool and love cars. There's this little dickhead 15 year old who's mad at us cuz we didn't let him in because all he did was shit-talk and blab on about his brother's Civic. One of our guys with a tuned turbo Jetta beat him, so its like, stfu. Anyways.......

I wanted it to been in a more original spot

There is a diffrence between a firebird and a trans-am. Although a trans-am is a firebird a firebird is not always a trans-am. (I think you knew that but just misspoke, I am just trying to clear it up for people who may not know.)

If it is a v-6 it is just a firebird (not a trans-am). Also a 90s model firebird came with a 3.1 v6. (not that it matters much... 5 horsepower big whoop)

Huh? I am not the one who said that. I know the diff. between the two. That other guy said it.

Edit: oops my bad, that was misleading. I did list the v6 didn't I. There was only one TA with a v6, and you def. don't want to race that one with your NA eclipse.

Re: 99Eclipse RS VS 90Trans-am

Thanks for clearing that up though... I didnt know the difference between the two. On a different note, I was talking to one of my old friends today. Hes really into cars especially fixing broken ones. He has a new v6 Tiburon, an old and way broken down Porshe, a Grand Am, and a Firebird or Trans Am. Well, the Firebird/TA has a 350 with a blower and he got it for free, but its not running. He said he might sell it to me. I am kinda excited, I was thinking about getting it running and selling it for DSM money or just keeping it for some RWD fun. A blower is same as a supercharger right? What about a procharger?

Some people refer to superchargers as blowers. Most likely not like a procharger, he is probably refering to a roots type blower. Did you see the car. You can't miss a big supercharger sticking out of the hood.
