yeah the cop had told me yesterday afternoon that it is quite possible i'll be charged with assault since i had defended myself by pushing him off me by any means possible *kicking, pushing, shoving, screaming*. had i been a helpless child this would've been different. so it's abuse if the child is younger and you shove them around but if you do the same thing to them when they're 13+ it's perfectly acceptable? school cops are gay, i agree. our last school cop doesn't work here anymore for putting false testimony on my friend's report, claiming he confessed to sexually assaulting a girl he actually never even touched.
i do my best to stay in my room alone or out with friends. i want minimal contact with the rest of my family. i do have some friends who'll do anything to make sure i'm safe and they let me know i'm loved and am a good person. one of them works at the #1 radio station in madison and is good friends with cheif of police in madison. so yup, at least we have some superb legal advice on our side. i'm going to graduate high school, move out into the cheapest apartment in madison this summer, then in the fall go off to college for business.

Sorry to hear that... just try to keep minimal contact like you said. It's true though, this is only one side of it. Most likely they want you to succeed in school and don't want you on the computer on MySpace posting pics of your thong, etc.

As for the welfare thing, I don't think you can collect while working a full time job.

it'll depend on what your income will be looking like! they'll also figure in your bills, to see what you will be living off of and what'll be left over each month.

I'm sorry about your situation, my suggestion is to stick it out until you're 18, then move out, it's obviously not a great place to be growing up in so try to keep as little contact with them as possible. they are your parents however and it will hurt to leave them but you have to think of what's best for you. if you don't contact them, they might start feeling sorry, or they might be in a different state o mind later so that you can talk to them and try to work out your differences.

One thing you can do right now is talk to them, try to get them to understand your needs, and tell them that what they did was wrong. leaving your parents is never a great thing, but sometimes it's the only way, try to use it as a last resort.

there should be a library close to your house, many libraries have computers for people to use, or you can try to use the school computers. worse comes to worse, just use a pencil and paper. why do you need a computer for an essay? do you need to do research? if so, explain to your teacher that your parents won't let you use the computer. plus you can always check out books from the library. the internet is a great thing but it's not the only way to get info.

If you need anyone to talk to there are many people here that have already offered their help, I'm just one more person you can talk to. Obviously i don't know you but sometimes it can help to just let everything out. I went through some tough times when i was younger, like grade 7 and 8, although i was mostly the cause of the stress. i got bullied alot and then i'd get into fights, i got suspended alot and almost charged with assault but the ppl droped the charges. anyways, i've got some experience with dealing with parents, i've had many a talk with my parents. besides, next year you can be at university, or college if you're in the states, and you won't have to talk with your parents. speaking of which, i can't wait till next year, university baby.

so just try to tough it out, keep your head high and don't let your parents get to you.

Well if it's anything like the library I work at (I'm the IT youth apprentice aka I fix their computers). You'll get the same regulars that hog the thigns all day. Also if you can get a computer I recommend disinfectant wipes.

You're in a bad situation, that is for sure. Beef's got a good idea, head to the library to do your projects - or does your school have a computer lab? That could be an alternative. If you never get on your mother's computer, she will never be able to yell at you to get off of it. (And, if you are on it and she yells at you to get off, just say "ok", save everything and get off).

-edit- and Oz is correct: escalating the violence obviously isn't helping you, and will only end up making things worse. Be the bigger person, and don't get drawn into the sh*t.

I don't envy your situation, and everyone goes through something similar - but not always as intense. Hang in there for a few more months, get your HS diploma, and get ready to move out. Don't forget you have numerous options, anything from working full time, college and work, military, etc. But don't quit - things will get better.

yeah i always post on here from the library. i haven't had my own computer password at home in almost 3 years and they have deleted my account off the computer *which deletes permenantly all my saved files too* on numerous occasions. i'm not a very violent or aggressive person, the physical things have only happened a few times. i've found a few apartment possibilities in downtown madison, i'm planning on contacting the person about living there too to find out what i need to do to get one. my mom left me at school on purpose today, showed up and picked up my brother and his friend but left me there. they do shit like that all the time that isn't "abuse" but isn't good parenting. it's not fair how much they play favorites and let me know they don't want me

Don't listen to a school cop about what goes on at your house. they are just as useless as a mall cop. Just like the other post try not to butt heads with them anymore. Eventually this will lead to someone being arrested, I went through kind of the same thing when I was 16 and i ended up getting arrested 2 and I never got violent just did the same as you and pushed off of me. there has to be some common ground somewhere for you and your family just got to find it without clashing. Hopefully it all works out for you and you get a appt. soon. Once you move out things will probably be alot calmer between ya'll.
