Re: turbo blown, time for an upgrade?

SBR turbos are $$. yes you will need a 2g kit.

Go over and look at English Raceing. It's our local DSM shop, awsome guy, exta fair deals. These are real deals too, not some bullshit over marked up price becasue they can. I beleve the MITSU Evo 3 16g is $529. Compare that to SBR $569

Is it really needed to upgrade the injectors also?

I don't want to spend over 1000 all together for this, so I was thinking if the MHI EVO III 16G and everything that comes with it exceeds 1000, then maybe I would go with the small 16g. It says on SBR that it's a direct bolt on. Does this mean I don't need the 2g kit or what?!

p.s. Thanks for all your input my fellow dsm'ers!
No 16g variant will bolt on directly to a 2g. That being said, get the EVO16g. The only things you really need are the SS oil line, gaskets and J-pipe. The T-25 waterlines, and oil return (with some modification) will be fine. It'll save a few bucks.

It sounds like you have a good start already as far as mods go. You don't need an upgraded fuel pump right away but you will want to get it soon. It's best to be safe and rewire your stock pump until you get a 190 or 255. The stock injectors will be fine for now. I'd say, if you do the rewire, you'll be able to safely push 14 psi. I'm at about 12 and it's a little bit more juicy than stock. 14 should be noticable.

You can do it in bits but don't get excited right away and crank the boost. No reason you'd have to drop more than $1000 in one sitting.

Sweet pick-up. Make sure you get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator if you are going with the 255. You'll run the car really rich and have problems if you don't.

I went with the 190 because it will flow just under what the EVO16g requires at it's maximum output when rewired. I figure I will probably never do everything required to max out a EVO16g (cams, excellent tuning, etc..) so the pump will cover all of my needs and I can save some $$ not buying the AFPR. I've also read a discussion about a rewired 190 with larger fuel lines being able to fully support an EVO16g. Don't remember where I read it though...

I don't want you to second guess your purchase but I want to make sure you know that you need to get the APFR too.

Re: turbo blown, time for an upgrade?

Definitely need the FPR. Some people will tell you there car was running fine without it, but the car was definitely having problems.

It was on DSMTuners. When I get to work today, I'll try doing some searches. I remember being torn between 190 and 255 but that discussion made me 100% confident in the 190.

*Edit: Not the link I was looking for, but should help with the piece of mind going with a 190.
