Re: A few pre engine pulling questions

Oh good call, thanks.

Some new questions were just brought to my attention.
-Would it be benificial for us to put in a 4 bolt rear later? Or will the 3 bolt be ok at like ~450 hp?
-What support mods should be done for nitrous(probably a 75 shot)? I've heard with other cars that some higher performance valves are required, but I havent heard anything on DSMs.

EDIT: loeman's sig - Hmmmm, where did I read that before?

UNLESS A. You are totally outclassed.
B. All that extra torque is going to one front wheel.

If you're going to put down that mutch power I would recomend you get a 4bolt cause You 3 bolt will most likely brake with 450'ish WHP.

Just my(.02)

Re: A few pre engine pulling questions

Thats quite possibly the best quote ever. Back to taking the engine out... Off the top of my head i can think of about 15 connectors, cv shafts, driveshaft, power steering, a/c components, coolant lines, vac lines from egr solenoid/fuel solenoid, fuel lines, hmmm... that might be it...
BTW: I still like a light flywheel!!!

Re: A few pre engine pulling questions

Ok, I think we decided on a stock flywheel. I can agree, 60' time is more important than overall power. If we need anymore of that, we'll just turn up the boost a couple PSI .

Any ideas on nitrous prep? Will stock valves and stock replacement pistons hold up?

Is a LSD for the front wheels a good idea instead of getting the lightweight flywheel? Will it be hard to put in once the tranny is out?

It's not a real LSD. Couple of good write ups on Tuners
