Got response too!

I recently e-mailed Wallace about importing my GT-R to the States when I leave Japan. I let them know I was aware of Motorex so far being the only RI (Registered Importer) capable of importing a GT-R legally in the U.S. I then asked them could they possibly import a Skyline themselves or is Motorex the only possible way. Here is what the told me...
"
In direct answer to your question of can we do it, yes. We would have to
purchase proprietary crash test data from Motorex or crash test this model
ourselves. The reason we are not pursuing these importations is the
substantial demand for Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar and Ferrari vehicles,
that do not require such an outlay of funding or crash testing."

Well, there it is. I guess if Motorex would sell their propriety data to another RI or the RI crash test the car themselves, then another RI could import a skyline. Possibly for less than Motorex is charging ($16,000 to $25,000!).

Now this makes me wonder Why these European models don't have to be "Anal probed" like the Skyline?! or is that how all the Japanese models are treated?

At first I thought how the parent company of those cars were Amercain, but then I see the German cars so that theory don't fly?!

I only have guess's here, does anyone know for a fact why these cars don't get the full treatment?
