Does anybody else here realize that the '92 Camaro V8 5.0 only had about 170 hp? Not to mention the V6 only had about 140...

Unless it was a Z28, you should have whooped up on him even worse than you did. The Z28 had somewhere around 230-240 hp....still not impressive for the amount of displacement that thing is running.

Re: 3000gt N/a vs 1992 Camaro

they purposefully made them really restrictive from the factories, with some proper upgrades and tuning, they're nice, but in stock, they blow

Agreed, and lets not forget the emissions standard back then. Ive had few problems beating MOST older 80s 350ci Camaros. Upgraded ones are better by far, but at least around here thats in the lower 10% of them.

Re: 3000gt N/a vs 1992 Camaro

What's the displacement on the 305's and 350's?

I think one of them (350 I think) is 5.3l, right?

305-5.0
350-5.7

Also Id like to add that the 87 Iroc Camaro with a 5.7l 350 put out about 225hp. In 89 it was upped to 240 and in 91 it was upped to 245hp.

Ah, that's right... TY... my buddy had one of those IROCs (85 I think)... he said his was putting almost 300 out... but I don't think so... I remember his was mostly stock, cept dual exhaust (custom) and a K&N... plus he had a system and was heavy as fuck... he had a helluva lotta torque though
