It doesn't matter what kind of signal wire you are using, whether it be speaker wire or RCAs. You can still get the same interference from the power wire.

Sheilded wire does not always do the job it is supposed to do, sometimes it actually works like an antenna and picks up more noise than it keeps out. Twisted pair wiring is better at noise cancelling.

zachzchw is probably correct though, and I think I may have mentioned it a long while back when this post first came up - Pioneers tend to have this type of problem more often than any other reputable brand of deck, and there's a real good chance that's where the problem is coming from.

Once im home from this semmester of school, im gonna pop in an old sony radio i have. if it works w/o interfence radio was the problem, and im never sinking a dime in the Pioneer's name. if not i'll rewire my whole system and hope for the best. I have a feeling its the radio also though, i haven't rulled it out. it is about 5 years old
