Re: Thunderbird V8 vs 380HP Supercharged Beast....

with his SS being Auto I'd say it'd be a drivers race.

You should try keeping up with some of the old men just playing with you in trucks around here..
I know a guy that owns a speed shop that has a lightning that he drives over his supercharged late 90s mustang and he claims it's just because it's his work truck..
Shoot try picking on the "farm truck" that's prowling the streets and watch the old man laugh as he just toys with you. Pretty sure he's running low 12's high 11's in this "farm truck" (another lightning).
Hell if they are to much for ya pick out a seemingly stock early modle s-10 and see how you fair.

Edit: Very sorry just found the trucks best time and it was 10.5@130mph.

^^^^jeez, yall haters......a 13 sec truck, but its still a truck in the end imo, hauling the trailer, the boat, the horses, the piggies, chickens....etc.....

By that logic, anyone who supes up a civic or anything other than a pure muscle car should keep their car nice and calm for getting the groceries. All the aftermarket support would die.

And that truck can still haul, all the while outrunning most cars on the road.

Too bad you probably would have won if you were in the SS

Haha, trying to get him to race with the SS makes it into every story. I bet eventually he will if we keep pestering him.

As a country boy myself, I love the fact that you were listening to country music and racing a pickup. I myself wanted a pickup but it just didn't work out. Seeing another street racer that listens to country music brought a smile to my face .

I'm not hating at all just saying you should open your perspective and see that it doesn't really matter how old or what you drive, anything can be made fast or is pretty fast stock.

Personaly I would love to have a big block in an s-10 just beacuse I could light the tires up and let the smoke roll when ever I want but that's not going to happen any time in the near future.

Re: Thunderbird V8 vs 380HP Supercharged Beast....

I'm sorry ric(er), but there are a lot of TRUCKS that can haul balls... Cyclone and Typhoon for one. Lightning and the SRT trucks for two... And there are some diesel trucks that can terroize your ass at the track one minute, and haul their big gun back the next. You'd be suprised what some of these big trucks can do...

Good loss. I've stomped 2 Lightnings thus far. I have yet to get snarfed by one.
