well if I had an RX-7 missing an engine and a KA24DET I'd probably try it too

You should setup a thread both in Nissan and Mazda boards to give more info about that!

Re: 240sx VG30DETT Swap

hes got the 12A, and im not a big fan of rotarys. back when i wanted an FC i was hanging out in the RX forum and most of the people say when buying the car, your going to most likely have the rotor and housing re surfaced/rebuilt. Too many bad stories for me to rock a rotary, unless i was rich..

Re: 240sx VG30DETT Swap

sr 20 is a four banger with a single turbo

rb26dett is a straight 6 with twin turbos

rb25det also a straight 6 but with smaller displacement and only a single turbo

once again though...please search man

yeah that car is badass...in cincinnati ohio where i live...the car is badass...guy swapped it himself and he did a fuckin clean ass job...looks like it doesnt take up as much room as you would think...the car ran an 11.5 in the 1/4....the swap is expensive but cheaper than the RB26DETT...if your willing to spend the money and time and effort i say go for it...if not the SR20 is still a good engine...here is a link for the video of the 1/4 mile run...

http://www.cincinnatistreetracing.co...howtopic=25735

badass car...it can be done just with every other engine...its just how much money and time your willing to spend...and frustration

complete agree with nissan180. when it comes down to it though you really can't go wrong with ka-t, sr20, rb swap, or even the ca18 and vg30... nissan makes/made a lot of good engines. so the only really choice is how much do you want to spend. i am actually planning on doing the vg30 swap myself if i don't end up buying my brother's 95 s14.

Well i happened to buy a 83 Rx7 (FB) for a daily driver, and then i started having fuel problems...frankly the 12A is too underpowered for me (stock) and i just bought a 240 coupe, with a free extra KA24DE motor and tranny (with exedy clutch ) so since im going to be taking out the rotary anywho, figured why not use what i got! Im picking up the car and motor tomorrow, so i'll be taking the 12A from the rotary and start doing some mock up so i can fab up a engine cradle. then its going to rewired, and repainted to match my 240 (sister cars!) so...i'll have two 240 power'd cars ...KA swap should be done by spring. (hopefully sooner) but i'll probably adding the T during the summer (rather get all the 12A to KA glitches before tuning)

could someone remove the poll or stop it, it should be like a 10 day limit on polls so people dont keep reviving it.

Re: 240sx VG30DETT Swap

What are your power goals, what do you want to do with the car, drag, drift, or auto-x, whats your budget? These will help you decide which motor is best for you. Also long term maintenance, RB parts are more exspensive, and hard to get at times, KA parts are cheap annd prevalent, SR parts are easy to get and decent priced, along with VG30DETT parts, and all of the motors, other than the VG will be easy to work on, the VG will defintely be a pain in the ass to work on, but it's definitely different. Anyone ever think of building a 3-rotor, 20b, and swapping it into a 240? Cross our minds a couple of times.
