Re: STI VS Civic SI (Need some advice)

lol yeah I decided too get the SI dude buuuuut a slight problem. My Honda dealer told me that since the car is in such high demand there will be a mark up charge more then likely meaning an SI with Navi would end up costing me around 23-24K. This kinda pissed me off seing as how thats Acura territory and in my stomach I dont feel right about buying a Civic for 24 thousand dollars thats not a TYpe-R. Its the principle, no one in there right mind should pay above or at MSRP for a car. It might be "worth" that much but if "HONDA" feels a car should be a certain price then by god damn Im not paying MORE then what "MSRP" is. But we shall see if all else fails Im just going to get a 2 door accord Coupe wtih the 6 Speed in it for 23K(Got a qoute through the internet sales manager) Which I find damn cheap for what u get, I mean I dont love the way teh accord handles but crap man thats too good of a deal. Also Ive gotten a mitsu dealership to agree too sell me an EVO 9 RS for 26.5 meaning Ide still have a starting point in funds for the 240 just not as much as I woulda had with the getting the civic and Ide be paying the fucker off for six years which Im not sure it would last me that long. Ah Im such an indecisive bastard. I in all honesty dont expect too have my cake and eat it too but as for new cars that I actually like, its almost non existant. Truth be told Ide rather have a 98 240SX wtih a Sr20 swap and that chassis mileage to be less then 50k. That would be a dream, of course that also doesnt exist. And people are selling S14's for prices as if the world is gonna end. But good things come too those who wait, its better too make smart educated decisions then dumb ones in life.

Re: STI VS Civic SI (Need some advice)

Why not get a used RSX-S for $15k and you save $8000 which can go towards the 240sx?

And then you may not get raped by insurance. With those quotes you posted I'd simply quit driving...

Re: STI VS Civic SI (Need some advice)

lol yeah dude progressive sucks Im paying out my eye balls for insurance cause um, My first car at 16 and a 2001 Z28 Camaro and yeah that was totalled when I was 17, then got a 2 door 2000 Eclipse and go ta few wrecklass tickets 4 to be exact, suspended license etc. etc. got rid of that car now then got an Acura integra, deer ran out in front of me and I hit it and swirved and blah blah blah insurance found out even though they didnt pay a damn cent to fix the car, blah blah blah still sitting out there got a 2 door 240 and here I am at 20. But Im at +15 points but 12 of thsoe drop next year in the time period of like four months so Ill be good then. Any way just too let whom evers been reading these long ass posts, Im gonna just get the Civic if theres no mark up and I can get one before Jan cause Im moving out of my area to goto school and I need a reliable car(240's on its second engine and has some valve knock) but if there is mark up Imma get an EVO 9 RS, dealer gave me a qoute of 26.5k which is a grand below msrp so I figure hey thats a damn good deal too. And I really need/want awd, but ONly getting that if the civic is priced ppast 23K.

Re: STI VS Civic SI (Need some advice)

oh and damn about the RSX a type S would be more on insurance then the Civic SI and just 100 bucks less a month then the EVO, think I already mentioned that in an earlier post idk, but a RSX is very high on insurance due to it being a sports car and an Acura. Also even though its not as high theft as ANY integra its still pretty high up there. And RSX's are butt stank ugly, and Im never buying a Used Honda/Acura again. People dog these cars religiously, especially Vtec equipped. And I already have an Acura Integra with only 80K miles on it that Im selling so me getting an RSX in the 15k range with around 40k miles would defeat the purpose. And the RSX would end up being a base model any how. Plus that year RSX handle like ass. Ive driven one on some backroads and it had alot of bump steer. Like it would litterally jump abit if your in a turn.

Re: STI VS Civic SI (Need some advice)

Why not buy a car for 2G, put the other 13G into the 240 now and then when everything is done, sell the DD for 1800 and drive the 240?

Re: STI VS Civic SI (Need some advice)

im surprised no one suggested get a used 02 wrx...
ej20>ej25
and you could pay it off at once, easy to modify, safe car so insurance wouldnt be as bad.
