Re: think i can beat this ticket?

thanx for the info, obviously its too late for the supervisor part but good idea. First off i didnt say a 5minute movie i said 90seconds (1 minute 30 seconds), which i can take from the light i started to the point i was "busted". I will just goin in tomorrow and if the cop shows up then i will just call for a delay telling them i need more time to get money for a lawyer, then next time ill tell them my lawyer couldnt make it and delay again. Ill try to repete that as much as i can till hopefully the cop doesnt make it in. we'll see and ill let yall know.

I don't know about your local laws, but here the officers front clip must be visible. If not then he cannot ticket you. Also if he doesn't ask if all the information on your license is correct you can get it thrown out.

Be like look judge heres the thing. I have 90 Honda Civic with a 1.6L SOHC non v-tec. I am only running OBD0 right now since I don't have enough money for a swap and to switch over to OBD1. The rev limiter on my PM6 OBD0 engine is 6500 RPM. My 60' track time in the 1/8th of a mile is 3 seconds. Now if I was clocked only 50' from the stop light.....ok well I will just stop there cause I doubt you'll get that far.

WTF!!????? NOT!!!!!!! Who told you that????every cop when giving a ticket has to tell you that by signing that YOU ARE NOT ADMITTING FAULT. it`s just verification that you recieved the summons to go to court. You can`t refuse or"deny" a ticket. If that were the case, then nobody would ever get tickets.DUH,...LMAO!

QFT

the signature is a RoR, Release on your own Recognisance (sp), if you do not sign, they BY LAW have to take you to a judge (read: arrest your butt), since you wont promise to appear on the date below by signing the paper. that little slip is simply a notice to appear, nothing more.

also i dont know if you have been to court yet but you can try to disprove the radar if it wasnt laser ask him when was the last time he was certified on radar is he currently good and when was the last time that the radar was check usually it is tuned with a tuning fork believe it or not since they operate on sound waves i believe it is either e flat or e sharp but use that also was there any other vehicles around if there was other vehicles around you can try to disprove him by asking him about his surronding showing that he doesnt have a good memory ask if he remebers if his window was up or down was his radio on as other questions that you can use to disprove him

As I said if you could read. Thats the law here, I don't know the laws where he lives. My ticket read something like: I hereby acknolege ________ (<charges) on the ____, day of _____, ________.

I have been to court like three times here. After signing the ticket you admit to the charges, unless you want to change your plea and prove your case at a later date (trial)

STF up and drive, window goes up...

Re: think i can beat this ticket?

OK heres the update on the ticket situation. Tuesday i called my lawyer, 3 hours b4 court he called me back. I asked if i could get it thrown out he says maybe not thrown out but reduced. Well knowing that i can strike a deal with the DA i figured i would see what they give me and decide to postpone or take the offer. The DA says ill give u a 45 in a 30, thats a decent drop, sort of like the one i got last time for 80 in a 40 (busted in the exact same place) but they reduced to 55 in a 40. So i tell her, i wanted to get a lawyer then, she says well im gonna give him the same deal. Well then y pay 350 for a lawyer to get me the same deal as this so i agree to the charge. Judge finally sees me and is PISSSSSSSSSSED, he looks over my at least 2 page record and fines me..........$200........+ $55 court surcharge. $255? i got off easy and cheaper since i didnt add that extra 350 for a lawyer. Now i just have to wait and see if the state will impose a surcharge also, but then i heard its only if u have 6 points or more on ur lisense, which now i have 4 but will take defencive driving and get 3 points off. So theres my short store turned long. I appreciate all u guys input, and i hope u guys aint mad cuz i settled for a lesser charge but thats just what we do to keep things goin. If it was a matter of me loosing my license at that point then i definately would have fought the ticket, so i just have to keep like a nice driver for another 18 months.

Re: think i can beat this ticket?

Boy that sucks. At least you got it reduced. I thought 15 over was 4 points though. I guess all states are different. My dad's a driving instructor and I always thought the point spread was pretty much universal -10 = 2pts., 10-20 = 4pts., 20+ = 6pts./careless/reckless/jail...

Re: think i can beat this ticket?

Well if you have a two page record maybe you deserve a to have to pay the ticket. $55 for court cost, ha you got off lucky. Court cost here is about $140.
