I didn't say #011 and #075 - I did in fact say #073. As I recall, cabrio92 posted them for us. At the time, I believe we thought the carbon car with the red stripe was #020, but I don't think that's true any longer.

Here's the link to that thread:

Another pair of McLaren yet ! But which ones ;-)

There's one more picture from that series showing the passenger side of #011 and you can clearly see the "F1" in silver on the wing endplate. It's not in that thread, so I will post it later.

That's the shot that finally made me realize it was not #020. It made a lot more sense when I put it all together too.

That's the one I was referring to, but for some reason I think the copy I have is larger as I recall being able to see the logo on the endplate which doesn't seem visible in your version. Hmmm...

048 1996, 44th car built, Brilliant Metallic Blue

And I'm leaning more towards 048 in this case.

There's also this chassis:

036 1995, 30th car built, Pale Blue Metallic

...but I suspect that is more than likely the car on the right in this shot:

It actually looks a lot like Porsche's Cobalt Blue. That means it could also be 008 - The car once owned by Tomas Bscher....unless you know that not to be the case of course. Great photo by the way.

Well, a few things on that. I have speculated in that past that Bscher's car could have been #008, but that's simply a guess. My experience with Cobalt Blue is that it is a very dark blue, not bright like this one. I would assume Bscher got an early F1, so I'm putting two and two together to make that assumption on his chassis number. I also don't know one way or the other if he still has his road car or any GTRs. I do think an F1 would have come in handy during the development of the Veyron, so he may still have one or two.

I have two color photos of his car (only one in digital form) and they prove to me that his F1 is not that this blue car pictured in Cannes, as his car is/was definitely much darker. In this photo it looks black, but the other shot more clearly shows it to be a deep shade of blue.

It also looks like his plate says "KITT" (it doesn't) but if it did, that would also add futher proof to the theory that "Germans Love David Hasselhoff"

I'm glad someone got that joke.

= = = = =

Ok - apparently I was wrong about Cobalt Blue being a dark color. Where do I come up with these things?!? This throws my theory of Bscher's F1 being #008 into a unrecoverable tailspin, bringing it crashing to the ground.

This is Porsche's Cobalt Blue:

To me that color looks quite similar to the photo of this new F1 (imagine it in the sunlight), so maybe that is #008 afterall.

Of course that now leaves question as to which car Bscher's would really be - there's only a few other early blue cars to choose from - #018 (nope) , #022 (actually a possibility in my mind), #046, and #052. I'll have to look and see what issue of AutoCar the "Commuting at 220mph" article was printed in. If it was before 1996, that would rule out chassis #052 - before 1995 or even early 1995 would rule out chassis #046.

We'll get it right eventually.

Well, they are HID's but i can't understand why the actual "lenses" (glass covering the lights) are smaller.
