Re: Honda vs Honda vs Honda

Ok, Tat wanted to see what the handling difference between the two.

The Location:
Suzuka Circuit Japan

Suzuka Circuit F1 Qualifying time (Jenson Benton Honda F1 2005): 1'46.141 in the rain

vs

MotoGP (The F1's of bikes)
Suzuka Circuit fastest lap ever (Rider Loris Capirossi 2001): 2'04.777

Ok, so maybe an F1 car is unfair. I mean, they pull upwards of 5+G's in a corner.

So, here's a more fair comparison

Suzuka Circuit JGTC 500 race (Mobil 1 NSX 2002): 1'58.531

Re: Honda vs Honda vs Honda

I was looking for that video.

Like I said, 99% of the time a car will out perform the bike.

great video

i just sorta doubted a street car would beat a sport bike because in the current issue of SPEED, they raced the current ultimate street car challenge winning R34 GTR against a 600cc bike and a slightly tweeked 1000cc bike. and also against the C6 vette.

the C6 vette got cremed and the 575whp GTR with slicks barely beat the 600cc bike and got beat by the 1000cc bike.

the cars could corner faster, and brake harder, but the bikes clips the apex alot closer and could out acelerate the cars on the straights.

Re: Honda vs Honda vs Honda

i think purpose built track cars and super cars may be faster around a track than a bike. but if you were to put a bike against most other car's(S2000's, 350Z's, M3's) i think the bike will usually come out on top.

Re: Honda vs Honda vs Honda

ANyone got the Clarkson video of the baseline 996 vs an R1? Porsche out cornered the bike, but the bike made up for it in the straights, barely getting beat by the Porsche.

Re: Honda vs Honda vs Honda

^i have that vid on my computer. i didn't think it was a fair comparison because the porsche was getting in the bikes way. the biker wasn't able to really lean his bike and drag his knees around turns. i think if they had run for individual lap times instead of running side by side around the track the bike would have won.
