Re: wiping the rain away
If you haven't changed the pulse board, then I'd say yes it is the pulse board. I had 2 problems with my wipers. One was the pulse board....It had a broken trace and bad solder joints on the connector. After fixing those things, it was fine. The second problem just recently happened, they were not turning on, but I could hear the motor trying, I gave the wipers a nudge and they are fine again.

Re: wiping the rain away
Hey,
I had the same problem (98 GMC jimmy). All my research pointed to those soldered joints on the circuit board.. I pulled the board and didn't see any problem..until I looked at the joints under a magnifying glass. (they are the joints on the "back" side of the circuit board. The side without any components.) I found several hair line cracks in some of the joints. To fix them, I just touched a soldering iron to them and remelted them. This was about late Oct. or Nov. 2005 same as you. I haven't had a single problem since them. Next time they won't work. Pull over, pop the hood and jiggle the box the circuit board is in. I used to do that and they would sometimes kick in.. It helped me isolate the problem to the board. |

Re: wiping the rain away
All it took to fix mine was to pull the pulse board, wipe the collection of grease off the spring contacts, quick spray with cleaner, and voila!
