Yes, a TPS will do just that...did you get the TPS wet? Like in washing the engine? Since you saiud the check eng light came on...pull the code and see what it says.
The IAC will stay where it was last set to by te ECM...Before you reinstall it you are supposed to reset it by pushing down on the pintle (cone end) while rocking it back and forth, this will retract the pintle.

Well if it only does this AFTER it is to operating temp, it could be a open loop problem... meaning possibly your O2 sensors.

Thats my

Re: possible solution to my problem..

alright awesome.. ill check the codes and nope I didn't get the TPS wet.. maybe just needs replacing according to what its been doing. I might as well replace the IAC as well.. you know.. just for peace of mind and then lets see if the problem persists. Ill also get the EGR checked just in case.. ahh I'm glad its been narrowed down to this.. thanks alot.

WELL, i realized it only idles weird when the car is in operating temp. but when its cold, its good. I installed a throttle body air filter like this one

I was wondering, since it sucks up hot air from the engine since the filter sits close to all the heat, could that be a possible cause?
I don't know if this will help, but my friend had the same or similar type of problem in his car (don't remember what type of car) but it turned out that his torque converter was wearing out. He said that his engine would rev when he was completely stopped and people next to him would think that he would want to race. So he got it replaced and that was that. But if you have a manual, than disregard this.

would the car move forward though? or would it just rev.. my car acts like it wants to take off without my consent haha luckily, i have brand new brakes all around so it only moves like a foot or so. and it doesnt keep revving.. it just goes vrrooom and thats it.. it doesnt sustain it.
