But they dooo work. Probably the easiest forced induction for the shadetree mechanic to install. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. It's all fun!

btw: have you checked the Forced Induction section over in the general section? Lots of help over there.

thanks for enlightening me...

i'm actually pretty serious about this, so again i'm going to ask is there anything i will need to upgrade (that doesnt come along with the kit) before i install a turbo or sc?

Re: turbo

ok heres what your gonna need

Turbo
Turbo manifold
All custom made piping
Intercooler
Bigger injectors
Colder Plugs
FMU SAFC something to adjust fuel pressure
WideBand 02 sensor to tune
Oil return and feed lines
A bigger fuel pump-optional
Boost guage
Fuel pressure guage
Various clamps, screws, hoses, and other little things

Alot of automotive skills. Your gonna need have the knowledge and skills to do things properly the first time to your car. Otherwise your gonna be doing it over and over untill you get it right. You need to learn what a turbo compressor map is. So you know what size turbo and what size comressor will work best for your setup and plans.

Re: turbo

dude just give up, you obviously dont know enough about cars and forced induction to take on such a task. Spend a few months reading, then come back and try again. Im not gonna waste my time telling you how to do it, when its blaintly obvious you cant.

Trying not to be a jerk....but since you have your car boosted, could you maybe explain a little bit of what he might need to know? Just to help him out a little bit? That's whay we are here for is to try and help others out.

Just a thought. I have nothign against you Jayson.

Re: turbo

to what bh04 said.

Heres my honest opinion: 2.2 OHV is NOT worth speed mods. You will drop around $3000 to get that thing s/c'd and you will only make around 160-175 hp and probably wont even see 14 second 1/4 miles. 2.2 OHV is just not a good speed platform.

But I would think it would be neat to have mine SC'd since i'll have it for a while. And for that while, I might as well have it a faster than normal Cavalier. (around here that is)

Re: turbo

for all your noobs that dont know about the internal workings of the 2.2ohv its not that bad. its a very well built engine and can take lots of stress. its not like sohc and dohcs the valves springs are under the valve cover and the cam is near the middle of the engine. its one of gms best balanced engines for applying street evenly among engine. if i were you upgrade your valve springs and get your head shaved on your engine. break in the springs than raise your rev limit to 7,000 rpm and get a 50 shot of spray. if you dont plan on upgrading it internaly than trash it for a 2.2 ecotec they got the same bolt pattern as the l4 2.2 ohv 134

Re: turbo

ok well yes 2.2l of corse its not as powerful as th 2.4l or the quad 4 yea there faster but junk with a capital J
ive had a few bout a few cars with the quad 4 that needed a motor and guess what junkyards want top dolooar cause half of them in the junkyard are blown up trust me! i know i sell cars and the 2.4l i dunno to much but my friend has been through 2 motors already and i have had 10 cavaliers and i never i mean never could blow one up of corse if u run it out of oil but there gms best 4 cylinder ive seen them wit over 350000 miles on original motor so there the best motor to upgrade cause they take a beting belive me! i have experience wit these cars so talk smack bout the 2.2 but it will last longer then the quad junk and the 2.4l put togather all the 2.4l is the new version of the quad 4
