Outstanding!

Fantastic job on the engine and overall - great detail painting as always

Great work Mick, you really did a good job. Hopefully all these positive comments will up your opinion of yourself, as I have never seen anyone so consistently put themself down in almost every single post

One question about your photos though, are you using a flash? I really think you'd see a real difference if you turn off the flash and light the model on its own with one, maybe two strong lights, especially since the model is white.

Top job mate

I agree with all the other comments! Great job!
I'd love to have that sitting in my display cabinet!

I used a flash inside the house, as I’m in the UK it’s mostly wet, dark and cold now it’s getting towards winter..

I did use some lights, but without the flash the pictures were virtually useless.. I intend on making a cheap photo both, when I get the chance that is to allow me to take better pictures. I didn’t think the pictures were too bad, could have been better.

The comments have been wonderful… I really do feel proud of this model. I worked so hard on it, yet it was only a practice at using P/E parts in preparation for my Ferrari F1 kits.. It’s been great reading them all.

Thank you.

Hey Vric, Tamiya did the Honda as a 1/12 plastic kit

I know all too well, and the clocks haven't even gone back yet!

The lights have gotta be pretty strong, especially since your model is white. Make sure you read Hiroboys tutorial, its excellent.

Cheers

They did a plastic Honda RA273 in 1/12, but not the RA272.

I had the 1:12 RA273 in my hands not too long ago.. I sold it though, as 1:12 is great, but I'm all geared up for 1:24 or 1:20. Looked to be a great kit though. Very detailed.

The next build is always a tough decision.
Hang on, something in my throat...

The Ferrari F2000 is planned. I've order the SMS super Detail kit, modelers silver braided hoses in a mix of dia, and just received F1 specialities Marlboro fill in decals, as well as some decals Tamiya missed.. Such as brake temp stickers etc..

I've re-started the C5-R for the time being, and will also build a Rally car then it's all out on the Ferrari F1 2000..

Re: Completed - Tamiya Honda RA272 (Lots of pictures, 56K warning..!!)

Sounds like you've got a LOT of fun coming up then!

I'm hoping to follow your lead in a way and scrounge up one of the old Scale Motor Sport super detail kits for the McLaren MP4/13 I have... but even if I can't get ahold of one I'll probably end up with all the basic PE and CF decal sets available. I'm already grinning like an idiot over this one, even if it is down the list a little.

Isn't it amazing... at first you get a taste for the hobby, buy a kit, and spend a fortune on the tools. Then you get the bug, and spend a fortune buying a zillion kits, and adding an extension to your house simply as a space to put the kits in. Then you've got a massive collection (mine's at a lowly eight odd), but you start spending a fortune on detail sets and extra decals, etc, etc...

Where do we go from here!
Damn it's like a drug...
