Re: is this a good deal?

Exactly how much would a stock LT1 dyno at? I know the LS1s are rated at 300-320 and the LT1s at 275-285, but I know plenty of LS1s dyno at over 300, can LT1s be expected to dyno over 275?

Oh, and best LT1 deal I've seen is a 96 51k for $6,500. Is that any good? If not how much do you think it should go for?

Re: is this a good deal?

well I have seen a 96 with about 90k for $4700

51k is low but I have seen a 95 with 40k for less than that, $6500 is what carmax offered for my brother's 2000 z28

51K Miles on a 96 LT1 for 6500.. actually sounds pretty good. But ofcourse always try to bring em down.. it's human nature.

Re: is this a good deal?

Kelley Blue Book value is $7555 for a 96 51k seems a little high to me

Re: is this a good deal?

Yeah the deal sounds great, but the insurance would be more costly. My dad prolly wouldn't let me get it anyway, I was just browsing for kicks.

Re: is this a good deal?

which year v6? the 3.8 would stomp a 3.4 in a heart beat. Some 95's had 3.8 as an option and 96+ had it standard

Re: is this a good deal?

personally im not happy with my 3.8 and if i had it to do over again i definately would not have settled with a v6...i agree with Xeno that the 3.8 is a huge step up from the 3.4 that was in my 94 but i would rather have an older v8 car than a v6 again

Why is that? Because of the magical 8 number?

because of the 100 +/- difference in horsepower and torque, sound, aftermarket parts, and the reasonable potential that a v8 has....im not saying a 6 banger doesnt have potential but for the same amount of money or less the v8 would do a lot better
