Putting a pin into the part was a good idea.. Should have done that myself..

And I like it all to be perfect. Nothing wrong with that.. Problem is, my perfection costs me, as I like to have the best, and buy all the goodies and buy the top brand paints etc.... I try and get it as cheap as possible but most of my builds cost me £50 and more...

Keep at it.. It's a great kitset, and I enjoyed building mine, so much so that I brought the kit again..!!

And your rims are on the way.. You might want to strip the gold off, or you might like it.. Up to you really..

Re: My Progress on my S2000. Serious Newbie Here...

a clear coat or two and some polishing and wax would do the trick! Nice painting btw, no uneven areas and not thick either.

Thanks, Well, It's actually my third try. I stripped the silver off twice and then decided on Red.

I think I'm going to hold back on the clear coat for now. I want to see how it will come out without it.

So, what do you guys think? The black interior or the red interior? I really like the red interior.

Great paint, awesome for your first/second job. I would go with the black and red interior because I think it flows witht eh car better..

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Although, Honda doesn't seem to manufacture them like that though with the red body. They only manufacture the red interior with the silverstone metallic or the Sebring Silver Metallic. Everything else is a black interior, tan or blue. But I love the red interior with the red body.

Re: My Progress on my S2000. Serious Newbie Here...

looks great, I bet you are hooked on airbrushes now, huh? I haven't used but a few colors from rattle cans since I got my airbrush about 10 years ago, just so much more control, and less overspray so you use more of your paint.

as for your paint jobs, they look awesome. airbrush is difficult to get used to, specially when you need to thin and mix paints. I like the red with red interior too. I'd go with that dark blood red looking color for the interior, and top, that'd look sweet.

I am not sugar coating this either. brutally honest...
you took such close up pics of that paint, and I saw VERY FEW imperfections that I'm sure a clear and a polish would have been all you needed for a show quality job. but that red looks a bit milky for some reason. may just be the lighting. good even coats, and it may just need a few more wet coats for that "milky" finish to go away. who knows.....I like it alot!!

Thanks for the compliments rsxse240, the truth is, It was sprayed with Tamiya TS-8(Italian Red). I still have to apply another 2-3 coats before it's complete. So, that would explain the milkiness. Its the primer still slightly showing through.

Anyway... I do agree with you on the airbrush. It's great. So much more control. It really is my first model that I am building so I am trying very hard for it to be perfect. I am just about to lay down another 2 coats of color. Will post more pics once done. I am also about to spray all the parts that need semi-gloss black.

More pics to come.

That part is a b1tch to handle! Feels like each move you make will break it. Anyway, Thanks to Okiemodelbuilder for the suggestion, I drilled a hole into the axel shaft and then into the diff. I cut a piece of Sprue into a thin shaft small enough to fit inside the drilled holes. This has given it some support. As you can see in the image to the right as the axel shaft meets the diff.

Anyway...I am really glad that you guys are here! I probably never would've dared to try and fix it. I am such a perfectionist that I would've preferred a new part but then I thought to myself, What the heck,...we are here to build and learn so I figured, what's the point of building if we can't fix our mistakes. And there you have it. My part is back in business...

that's what's great about plastic, 9 times out of 10 it's fixable. good looking build by the way!!

for the fish eyes you may be able to wet sand before your next coat and smooth out the area where the fish eyes are.

i know you have the chassis painted but here's a pic of the underside of an S2000. gives you a good idea on the colors of the exhaust system!
