Well, the car hurts my ears with the screeching... i looked at the crankpulley and it seems to be dry and miscolored.... but i don't know what a normal looking one would look like anyway.... the engine and tranny have 10-11K miles on it at max.., the only things that i could think of would be oil may be dripping from my pan, or filter onto it.... it is leaking a whole bunch, and the drive shafts were broken at the boot... and there is tons of grease on both sides of the engine bay.... but grease doesn't drip up... HOpefully saturday i will have new driveshafts and rtv the oilpan and oil return from the turbo... The altenator, i think doesn't hesitate i cant really see how you would see that... and if the belt is on a side at all... it may be leaning a little to the left if you are looking at it from the front of the car, the belt seems to dry on top of the belt on some parts, and brand new on other parts.. if you put your hand on the on the ribbed side of the belt you will have a little bit of belt shavings on your hand..... the shavings are all generally on the altenator... i just dont get it..

Well i just found a place that stocks... and has the belt for 30 dollars.... but look at this little drive i have to do.... so AHHHHHHHHH Total Est. Time: 52 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 32.68 miles for a belt

I think we should do your driveshafts and make sure to clean the belt and if it still does it then i'd say get the oem belt, btw if grease got on it it would last longer then oil and less would make it sqeel (like a pig) you might not even be able to see it.

well here is a common sense way of checking to see if you altornator pulley is hesitating when you start the car. its really quite simple.....???
get a friend, have him or her start the car, LOOK at the alternator if the belt starts moving before the altornator pulley starts spinning, then there is a problem with a bearing or something in your alt.pulley..... hard huh???

calm down man... i dont want this thread becoming a fight, like other homerotice threads and i dont want you to send me a picture of you threathening to kick my ass...sorry i was a prick, i was just pissed that my altenator belt is screeching for the 3rd time, and no one really knows why.... but thanx for thte info i think the altenator starts up fine,i'll find out today tho about anythign dripping on it

lol that face sums it up nice... well.... ez and i determined it has to be the altenator... it was tested as good, but to be safe im getting another belt and a reman altenator.... nothing was dripping on it..... nothing is scrapping the belt either.... meh thanx for the input
