Re: The song that takes you back...

There isn't just ONE song that takes me back, but a few that came out around the same time. It was 1984, my senior year of high school, and there we were finishing up one stage of our lives, and getting prepared to start another with uncertainty. That summer, we tried to make the most of it, as we didn't know if we'd ever get back together, or where our lives would lead us. Those songs were: Reflex - Duran Duran, Infatuation- Rod Stewart, Round and Round - Ratt and When Doves Cry- Prince. Whenever I hear those songs, it reminds me of my last year of high school and the summer that followed.

Re: The song that takes you back...

All sorts of songs take me back, and it's usually what is playing on the radio a lot or what cd i've bought at the time... i.e., certain songs and cd's take me back to growing up, high school, middle school dances, and my ex-girlfriend.

But I always get a smile whenever I hear "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw, because it takes me back to high school and merely driving around doing nothing because we are bored and wanted to get away from the house (I'm sure a lot of you can relate to those days). I just remember this song would come on the radio in the car with my buds and we'd all start singing to this love song and really get into it... good times.
Man, I miss those days.

Re: The song that takes you back...

Oh jeez, so many. I can't pick one particular one, cause they're all different, but for some examples would be

Metallica - Orion. Man those were some bad times my soph. year in college. That song reminds me that *the* ex ya know everytime. I love the song, but sometimes i just can't take it.

Sublime - Get Ready. Hehe... same year, except that was our RITUAL song we would play before we'd spark up the bong. A little less so with Snoops rendition of Lodi Dodi, but still. High times, to say the least.

Rammstein - Du Hast. That was probably the first song i ever heard if you know what i mean. Back in waht.. 7th 8th grade, it's what really started getting me into music, and especially hard rock and metal. I thought they were the best band in the whole wide world then (not anymore, heh, but they're up there on my list), but this was before I found Metallica... or before Metallica found me should I say
