I would say that Ferrari's "one mistake" is more likely the Scaglietti. Tamiya is due to release a newly molded kit, and judging by their attention to detail and obvious love of Ferrari, I hope its an F430 (although I still haven't caught up with my F360 yet!)

I just cant wait to see Tamiya's Ferrari F430 coupe and spider. We need their high level of detailing and accuracy. Please produce it.

Uh, people, if Revell and Fujimi are releasing the F430, Tamiya will definately skip this one. Doesn't matter how good/bad the Revell and Fujimi kits turn out to be, there will never be three new kits of one car. Especially not of a Ferrari, as they control licensing of kits pretty stringently.

The workings of Tamiya are very hard to predict. They should have done a 1/20 BAR 006 last year, but didn't. Maybe the Enzo and Carrera GT just didn't justify in sales the investments put into them. Who can say? It is pretty obvious that they're not putting out as many new car kits- and it does seem to coincide with the explosion in popularity that diecasts are recieving lately. But don't expect the F430 from them.

The correct answer for Ferrari's One Mistake is.........

The Bertone-styled Ferrari 308 GT/4 Dino.

The F430 is also being produced by ABC Brianza in Italy. I'ts a resin kit with engine but not in the same range of price as Fujimi or Revell.

For my part I will definitely wait for the Fujimi kit and leave the Revell to others. Too many things & details are not satisfactory on Revell kits. Have you seen the tires you get in the Revell kits ? these are for dragster use only !

I have seen also that Maisto is proposing the F430 in diecast to be assembled, about $12.00

Unforntunately, I don't think Tamiya will produce the 430. I hope I'm wrong...

But Tamiya just releases their Ferrari F40 GT, does it mean that Tamiya still has the license with Ferrari SPA?

Re: F430!?

At this point, I'm looking at getting the Fujimi F430 and kitbashing with a Tamiya 360 Modena. Hopefully Revell AG will post pics like they did of the 612 so we can make a chocie.

No worries, Tamiya and Ferrari have an excellent working relationship. I expect tamiya wasn't as interested in putting out the F430, maybe because it just looks too much like the last two Ferrari's they put out- run an Enzo into a 360, and you get a 430. Plenty of Ferrari fans wanted an F2002 after Tamiya's F200 and F2001- but they were really too similar to justify another kit.

The question is, will Tamiya find something intersting to do instead?

Common. Tamiya is releasing tons of retooled kit lately. You have over 5 Peugeot WRC, same for Subaru.

Too similar isn't a factor here. They just don't like us anymore. Few years ago, Tamiya was releasing between 6 and 12 kit by years, now we are lucky if we have 1 or 2 really new kit.

It's all what there's a demand for, that's all. I suppose that there are so many Ferrari models out already, people aren't really pushing for them anymore. I love Ferrari's and will never be sick of them. We should all e-mail them over at Tamiya and let them know that we want one

And what is the F40 GT that Tamiya just released???
