I have had them paint three cars. I had the $250 paint job done to a second hand car my wife used for work, and I was satisfied with it. I had it ready as they won't do any body work at this price or anything else but the paint job itself. Good enough for this car. Second car was my son's old 89 Beretta and they did $700 paint job and minor repairs. Turned out fine. Our 91 Corsica (which we bought new and still have) was painted several years ago after the wife and a deer tangled. Paint job was fantastic and they even added a pinstripe. Only thing I was not happy with was the steering wheel was slightly off, but, no problem otherwise. They painted the entire car for less than the original quote for just the front end repair at another shop. I think it just depends on what paint job you choose myself. I would rate them better than Scheib, who will paint everything including your glass for cheap, and similar to others I have used around here. since you know someone that is a plus. Would go for it.

I agree. But now adays...no one does anything for free. There are still a few people who will go that extra mile. Usually someone with their own small bussiness or an old timer who's still around. But its very hard to find in a "store chain".

I find the local small shops to be charging an arm and leg for most jobs.

Re: Maaco paint Job

Nothing to worry about, at least they are not trying to push a bad paintjob on you.

So for the heck of it I went to Maaco to see how much to paint the entire truck because it had other scratches and small dings the hood a little crows feet. I ended up knowing the manager. I used to chumb around with him about 20 years ago. Any way he told me $918.00 to paint the whole truck. I have been reading around and most hate macco but he assured me they would do a good job and that most folks that are not satisfied buy the $250 paint job and expect it to look great. Any opinions on this . I'll be picking up the blazer Tuesday or Wednesday and will give you all an honest opinion on how it came out.I dont expect a factory finish but I dont want to see runs and orange peal either . it's a nail biter.
Bad news! My GF had her car repaired at a Maaco 3 years ago and the work was terrible. Today, her LR quarter panel has some serious cracks, her LR taillight didn’t match up where the repair work was, and the paintwork didn’t match at all. Take my advice, stay away from Maaco!

My farther had his Regal painted by maaco and the RH fender just started blistering 3 days after he got it home. it was in and out of the shop 6 times... I would suggest you stay clear of that dump!!

well Im not sure but it looks like somthing came in contact with it. the maskinng was done suprisingly well the paint is nice and flat. Shine is good. When they repaint the back I will try to download some pix. If someone told me it was painted at maaco I would most likly not believe the. Will it hold up to the elements??? we will see. Overall I think it's what Macco shop you bring it too some suck some are good.
