somebody here has got it correct, but who?

yes its an SR20det

not the best detail, but that leaves it open for others to detail it better.

i MAY cast some and sell them, (discounted to you guys of course).

what would be a reasonable price?
if i sell them it will only be the block and top, not exhaust and other add on bits.

So what is the point of having a "secret project"?
If it's such a secret it should be damn astounding when it's finally revealed.
Now that you tell us you're making an SR, it better be good. There is no such thing as "not the best detail".
Freakin' build it first and WE will decide if it's even worth selling/buying.

well, when i say "not the best detail" i mean it wont have every single rib and hole that is on a real one, it is going to have most of it's detail on the top pieces (as they will be visible).

i only really intended it to go into my Silvia build and thought if it was good enough, others might want one.
and i only started it a few days ago, the rest has been collecting pics, and some measurements.

also, it has been a secret until now because it was only in planning, if i spoke of it before i began, and ended up not doing it, it would have wasted everyone's time.

Re: my secret project

microwave food contaners are where I get most of my stuff. I bet if you were really resourceful, you'd find free plastic just about everywhere you look.

oh, and I too have a "SECRET" project...not unlike yours, let's see who wins...or even collaberate. competition usually makes for better stuff. now that I know someone else is working on one, I better step up my detail level.

Re: my secret project

Scratchbuilt SR20DET's have been promised by many people on these boards, including myself.

No pics yet = no hopes yet.

Re: my secret project

So, what I want to know is how different in size is it from the Honda 4cyl block? If the blocks are close you can get away with using a Honda unit (since they are available in both 1:24 and 1:25) and just replace the valve cover and the timing belt cover with scratch Nissan parts, and pinch a transmission from whatever other kit has a close match. I think ya'll make things too hard for yourselves. This project would require only four scratch parts in my book - valve cover, timing belt cover, oil pan, intake manifold.
