Same thing happened to me yesterday. Here I thought I found a great buy. Thats what I get for buy something in the plumbing aisle, next to the TOILETS, for my car!

Where did you get your new silicone ones? I found this site www.StylinMotors.com and was wondering if you or anyone else had used them before. Their prices seem good atleast.

Re: Why not to be cheap lol :)

I think you all have the wrong idea. I don't think myself as rice at all. My stupid ass went out when I was younger, and bought a n/t. Im not gonna lie, the car is slow as shit. I dont feel like going out and putting 4 grand into a turbo kit, and then having my 85k engine go out on me. Therefore, I modified the looks of my car. How the fuck does that make me a ricer? I will most likely not race at all on the streets, and very little if ever on a track, so why go and make my car super fast... so where does that make me a ricer? Because I modded my exterior? Whooptie fucking do.

EDIT: What the fuck ever happened to "to each his own"

a-fucking-men to that.

yeah, that car in my avatar is an rs..no power windows..no power locks..NO TURBO, yeah that's right, i said it, NO TURBO, and it's automatic. so am i rice just because i choose to mod the exterior (and complete interior)? you sure as hell better say no. i preferred for my first car at the age of 15 to not get a turbo and just make the car look nice. i still have that car now at the age of 19 and still love it just as much and i am glad that i didn't buy a turbo car my first time. i learned alot from that car that i probably wouldn't have from a turbo. as i got older i started to mod the engine more and more (even though it's a n/t, i modded the engine, why? because i wanted to). not big big mods, but enough to get me a little more power. i didn't try to make it a rocketship or make it super fast, i've never been to the track or tried to race it in town, i modded it because i wanted a little more power for my own pleasure. but i originally bought the car because i WANTED to mod the outside to make it LOOK NICE, not to make it LOOK FAST. even now, after purchasing both a 97 gst and a 95 tsi awd, i'm STILL glad i own my rs, it's a point of pride for me. look guys, i still like my rs after owning TWO turbo cars.

there are people out there who mod their cars to go fast, and there are people who mod their car to look nice. others mod their car to LOOK fast. those people are ricers.

and just for the record, those graphics aren't vinyl, they were painted on when the rest of the car was painted. so whoever said "your rice if your decals cost more than your car", i don't want to hear anything from you about my graphics.

I don't see a problem with what you did to your car and wouldn't call it rice. I'm sure you don't go around doing ricer fly-bys to every Lotus you see on the street . Also, I don't see one of those shopping cart wings on the back, or a fake BOV shoved in the tailpipe. I was just assume that you wern't concerned with speed and just wanted a car that looked nice and different than the average stock looking Eclipse.

But that's just my opinion.

Re: Why not to be cheap lol :)

Absolutely right. And actually, I kinda like the small wing. Its more sleek looking, and in my opinion, if it was the turbo wing, it would make the car look awkward, having emphasis in both the front, and back of the car. Amen to the little wing. (I thought about taking it off, but dont have the money to patch up the holes...)

Re: Why not to be cheap lol :)

The term ricer really needs to be more widely known, by that i mean the true meaning. I think it was said perfect in "some people mod their cars to look good, some mod to go fast, but modding to look fast is a ricer" Said and true. I hate seeing stock cavaliers with 2 foot wings. Some people need to grow up.

Re: Why not to be cheap lol :)

if I could I would have a sharp ass looking gsx with trick shit everywhere. But I don't have that kind of cash, so I have to settle for a stock looking GSX with some engine mods.

Some people want show before go. I like it Go before show. Thats the wonderfull thing about the auto industry. To each their own. Its the kids that think a 400 CF wing will decrease their 1/4 times by a half second that have made the name RICE!

No there is a big line between making your car look nice, and thinkin you are Paul Walker. And I dont think that there is any thing wrong with putting NOS stickers on your celica ONLY if u have nos.
And about the non turbo cars being ricers. I test drove a gs-t spyder, a gs-t hardtop, and a GS spyder, and guess which one i bought. Thats right, the GS spyder and i love the car. I have made a few mods to the 4G64 engine and i plan on bolting on lots more parts except for a turbo. No I dont think my car is fast but it is fun as hell to drive. And for your information....not all N/A cars are slow.

Ricer is just thrown around too much. I know it means different things to different people, but I am beginning to HATE this fucking word. I mean, not even when its about me. I just see some cars on laughatrice.com or whatever, that arent rice at all. They just have a simple kit on, sometimes i see stock shit!
