No, that won't work. The 300ZX used a different engine than the Maxima. Even if they did, some parts might not work because of the rwd vs fwd engine orientation.

If you picked up a 2002-2003 Maxima, some 350Z parts might work for you. The 2002-up Altima might have some parts that would fit too.

I beleive a guy on Maxima.org using slicks and a 100-shot broke into the 12s with his 2002 Maxima.

Re: Project Super Sleeper

okay well i'm thinking about looking for a full exhaust first.....it doesn't matter how much your car inhales if it can't exhale right? and then after that i'll try looking for a PCM....i really wish they had these in manual but meh with the PCM it should have good shift points....

As for how the car is....i love the supercharger whine...i think i'm addicted to it....you can barely hear it at WOT but it's still hella cool...and compared to my stock Z34 this thing is a beast....i took it around some corners and it's so much faster out of them.....i'll do some update threads every once in a while but winter is coming so i don't think i'll be doing too much....but it'll be a great project car nonetheless....and i hope that i can raise the govorner above the 107 mph it is set at.....i ran it last night on the highway against my buddies grand am and i got up to 107 and it felt like i slammed on the brakes real quick and i looked down and i was only at like 3500rpms...i could go so much faster...lol....but i slaughtered his grand am gt coupe...so i'm happy so far...

Re: Project Super Sleeper

Well along those lines I think it's good to get the intake, headers, and exhaust all at once so it breathes together in unision...if you cant do headers now, then just intake and exhaust...then add the headers and get a chip/ECU reflash or whatever GM does.

Re: Project Super Sleeper

Had I seen the post earlier I would have recommended the GTP... yeah I/H/E with a chip is a good start...you should also look at how maxed out the supercharger is and the possibility of an upgrade...those Series III engines can handle alot of boost on stock internals

and remember, DEFINATELY talk to Jeffsgtpsleeper...I haven't seen him on the racing forum lately but hes definately the man to talk to...him and is 12s GTP (mabe 11s I dont remember)

107mph? no supercharger whine at WOT?

first, what year is yours? reason being, i have a 2000 GTP and cuts off at about 130mph. i cant really tell because the speedometer stops at 115 but buries well past the end of the speedo.

second, do you have an intake? i could barely hear my supercharger whine at all until i got an intake. now it screams from 3000-6000rpms...i hosted a video on streetfire.net but i dont think it loaded yet. i will give you a link to it once i figure out what happened to it.

anyways. sounds like your on a good start...i dont think you will be dissappointed.

oh heck yeah i already sent him a PM that had some questions in it....i think that the intake will be my first mod and then i'm going to look at PCM to take advantage of that extra air....then i should hear that REEEE! And just as an update on his GTP he's running 11.9 @ 114....lol....that's crazy

i have a 1997, basically the first year of the supercharged GTPs....i had a friend that has a sunfire GT and his is governed at exactly 107 too, i think it's kind of a pontiac thing...

weird...i wonder why they hired the cut off by 2000. like you said, at 107 your still way down in the RPM range. at ~130mph i think im at about 5500rpms, i will have to check next time.

the supercharger whine with just an intake is surprisingly loud with the stock pulley. it is definitely an addicting sound...

I ordered a Wiz Air intake today, the best one i could get....Jeff uses it on his GTP so i figured that it's got to be good and i'm going order a full exhaust next week......i'm trying to get all the mods i can before winter...then i'll have to switch to my winter beater (Z34)....i can't wait to hear that superchager scream...

Re: Project Super Sleeper

The point of a sleeper is not to catch random bystanders off-guard, it's to catch other racers off-guard. Most racers have heard of the Celica GT-Four, and know that it's pretty fast.
