and yeah, all third gens have the motorized pull down, hence the tracks you pointed out. so like i said, there is some sort of electrical problem causing the motor not to activate and pull down the hatch like its supposed to.

If i were to swap motors it would be v8 of some kind.

IROC thanks man, the info you gave help me alot, i finally can figure this thing out.

hell intake and gears as said before, or use it towards a purchase of a new engine, or start a rebuild of the one u have. s/c for that car i dont think so at all, if they make one for the v6 of that year, maybe...i would build it for spray. my name is phillyrs and im on the bottle!

Re: What Would You Buy?

I was looking at some nice centrifugal superchargers yesterday after seeing it on a mustang. Damn thing is the size of an alternator with a belt and not that much plumbing on it too. Still nice, and gas mlg should be fairly good as well.
I say, a nice TPI motor with that thing (+ certain upgrates) would make lotsa power. So start with getting a low mlg or rebuild 350

Re: What Would You Buy?

again, ill warn against the sixer to V8 swap unless you have a garage, cherry picker, engine stand, and know what you are doing, and have the money to spend to do it. its a major undertaking, much more cost effective to sell the one you have, and buy another camaro with a V8, but its up to you.
