Re: Crazy!

Have any of the limited editions ever been on the market except from McLaren? Did they sell for more or less than the original price? I would think anyone buying one of those would pass it on to their heirs.

I've never seen one of the Ltd Edtn Driving Ambitions listed on Ebay. The place to sell one would probably be a motoring auction put on by Christies, Bonhams, Coys or the like.

A hard cover version of the F1 launch brochure just sold for 410£ though:

<-- Clickable

Yowsa!! :22yikes:

Interesting - I would have never guessed those pieces were removable.

Can you tell me about your copy of the special edition of Driving Ambition? Comparing it to the normal version, what do the additional ~130 pages include?

Just curious...it was never called "special edition". It is and was issued as a "limited edition", Hand-crafted by order, Connoly Leather (like my Range Rover and I have to say that is great leather) covered, 400 page, "Hand bound" edition at $600 (+/- 50) pounds when offered. It was delivered or held for pickup at the factory complete with a Chassis plate, a tour invitation and 2 other collectibles.

How did you come by this item? Do you wish to part with it? Please PM the price.

Regards
WG

They have a chapter devoted to the cars called "The Heavenly Twins". It's one of my favorites because it offers something you might never know about the F1 development if they had never written the book.

I'll get some up later.

Once he clarified the logo's were interchangeable, it opened the flood gates. There are people bidding that I don't normally see bidding. We'll have to see if the BentleyBoyz spoil anything once again.

I saw the other day that BentleyBoyz was no longer a registered user. No worries though - he/she/it has several other Ebay identities.

When I told Gordon about the F1 pedal set that sold on Ebay for around $1000, he stated that person had gotten quite the deal as those parts cost McLaren quite a bit more than $1000 to produce for the car.

No. The BentleyBoyz just seem to always come in at the last second and outbid everyone.
