Just don't put kevlar pads on your Powerstops. They can't take it (and my driving). I already trashed a set.

Spy depends what you are up to, obviously disc to the back and bigger rotors will make you stop better, but at that point you might need to upgrade tires. And possibly get some sort of ABS going because that is a lot of stopping power for some small light cars.

The only brake diameter upgrade I'd bother with is going to EX brakes on the front and maybe CRX rear discs although that's a lot of work for what you gain. The fronts do damn near all the work on our cars. Remember the big brakes don't buy you anything until you have to use them for many high energy slow downs in short succession (like road course work). Thats' when you need the heat dissipation ability and extra thermal mass. You're best off with good quality pads and rotors on the front. Spend the money you save on some good quality rubber. That'll help a bunch too.

ABS is a non starter. All that does is let you hammer the pedal as hard as possible and not lock up. I don't even know if there's a retrofit available for our cars and I'd consider it a waste of time. A lot of the early ABS systems got confused in track situations anyway and caused more problems than benefit.

DarolH: I agree with your about the upgrades and how they arent worth it. I brought up the ABS because I have heard that one you get bigger brakes its becomes much easier to lock up, didnt realize they could ever get confused though.
