And if anyones interested in getting some for a good discount. There's still a group purchase going on (that 97CamaroRS made a thread about) over at Firebird Nation's forum. They're getting them from UMI Performance.

Weight on the subframes is like 20 - 25 lbs and considering all the stuff I removed from the engine bay, that really wasn't a concern of mine versus what it does for chasis and handling. Just check out Gm high performance magazine where they did SBC, SFC and 4 new KYB struts and drop the ET's but over a half a second on a LS1.

Alot of people get them spot welded on the bolt on's but according to alot of people I talked to that have had them a while, They held up just fine, Plus your front chasis around the holes goes from one layer of steel to tripple layers and at that point it won't flex, trust me.

Re: Public service announcement.

What I have heard is that bolt ons will transfer all the stress that the SFCs elimante to those bolts, which could possibly loosen them up. The thing is, if you get weld ons MAKE SURE THAT YOU TAKE IT SOMEWHERE THAT HAS EXPERIANCE. The car MUST be level otherwise youve just welded your subframes crooked, and fucked up your car bigtime.

Oh and about this thread...

I BROUGHT THOSE TO YOUR HOUSE OVER A DAMN ONTH AGO, ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME YOU GOT THEM ON!!!!!!!!!

its posts like this that have me wondering how you managed to get your engine swap or rebuild (what ever the hell you did) done at all.

he said he just 'droped them off' but who knows they could have been on something that he knocked out from under them.

When I finally get my mind set to do something, I work til its done. I was sick for like the first 2 weeks I had the subframes and then the weather sucked for like a week and then I was lazy for a week. Then I figured I would just do a little bit at a time, Why rush? I have another .

I had them that long but 3-4 hours was how long I could have taken to put them in working the whole time at a steady pace, instead I chose to take my sweet ass time.

The stress would be in the same location if you welded or bolted and thats why you use thread locking compound like listed in the instructions, so they don't loosen up but I think I am going to get a spot weld done on them anyway cause they aren't in the way as much as I thought they would be.
