Re: 700r4 or T5

factory made for about 30 years lol, dunno if you can still find many at the junkyard, kinda the same era as the 12 bolt rear. around here there arent any cars old enough to have them. maybe out on the west coast in the bone yards.

a point here to remember is that while TH350's and TH400s rule the track, they are not overdrive trannies and will suck on the highway, they also do not have lockup converters, so a drag converter at 3000rpm stall will suck on the highway, combined with 4.10 gears and you see where this is going...... they SUCK on the highway. but they are blazing fast in the quarter mile. these are the cars that you keep for weekend duty to take your friends out in, floor it and literally watch the gas guage go down.

For a street strip car, stick with the 700R4 or a T56, the 700 can be built to handle 500hp reliably, and lets be honest, you dont need more than that on the street.

Re: 700r4 or T5

local news paper/parts section they are 3 speed. 700 r4 is a kick ass tranny too. In automatics that would be the one to use.

Are you gonna get a 1500 + hp monster-motor?

well 2 things, i want 1000 hp to the wheels, maybe more, so what ever i do it gotta hold up, like right now i want 1000 hp at the wheels (this is with turbos) but maybe later (im sill trying to research stuff) i might go for 1500 at the wheels, in the end i want it to also be street legal.

but as a cusion i rather it be able to hald 1500hp if i go for 1000 at the wheels and handle like 2000hp if i shoot for 1500 at the wheels this what i have some cusion incase something happens and i end up with more hp then planned.

Re: 700r4 or T5

lol i am not responsible for the ineptatude of your search engine, and if that guy comes back about the ford, and can actually make clear what he wants, id be happy to try and help him. actually the 700 swap into fords is very popular, im sure i know some bobtail owners that can help him better than i can. if thats what hes lookin for.

Re: 700r4 or T5

you want a street legal, 1500hp car................. and it has to be easy to drive, and get 30mpg to boot right??? dude, im gonna try real hard to not be a dick about this, but i think youre aiming a little high. that much hp on the street is not safe, no matter how you cut it.

my uncle had a 69 camaro that was street legal and made 1050 hp, oh sure we took it on the interstate once or twice just for shits and giggles, were also lucky we didnt kill anyone. and it sure as shit wasnt fun to drive. you have to really work at not breaking the tires loose and after a while working to stay off of the gas pedal gives you a cramp in your calf, not to mention its street manners were horrable, youd get a headache (no mufflers) your back would hurt (drag racer idle) and much more. Trust me, that much power is not going to be streetable, sure you may be able to drive it on the street, but i give it a week before you go out and buy a new daily driver because you no longer enjoy driving he camaro.

Re: 700r4 or T5

with turbos, 700hp is doable for a regular daily driver, at low boost levels it will have better manners and then you can wind it up and tear it loose. i believe hypsi had something like a boost controller in his car that let him adjust the ammount of boost he was running, something like that would probly allow you to hit the 700hp and still have a very streetable package. it would still be one mean motherfucker. ill be quite happy with my 350-400 rear wheel hp tank you veddy much, we have these things called rain and snow where i come from

same here, but where i come from they make snow tires, and the good year eagle f1-gs's have very good wet traction.

oh and btw this 25 - 26 mpg issue is i cant find anything on it, so either its a lie or they are runing some other type of fuel and they car isnt street legal, i was talking to lous about it and he said he never believe that shit ever, he thinks that its more like 26 gallons per mile.
