Re: I didnt know it had gotten this bad. . .
Kid: Ya im gonna buy that Integra, its GSR
Me: Really? that is funny Previously Me: so what engine does that integra have in it? Person: the stock motor blew so we threw a D16 in there with some new valve covers Later Me: I hate spoilers, a few low profile ones can add to the look but 98.456% (i didnt realyl say that gay number) of kids with spoilers that htey got from walmart made out of fake brished aluminum (as if that where possible) and add more drag than downforce Kid: ya me too and spoilers are only effective over 120mph Me: which is why they dont belong on honda's (ignoreing the fact of his ignorance to how a spoiler works or why you have one) Kid: man my integra will have one, so and so's needs one, ill be pushing 145 easy when im done with that engine Me: :snikers to self at the fact that he is oblivious to the actual engine that is in it: its every where....even in a place where a lifted GMC on 35's is more common than an accord or civic...stock or rice or otherwise... |

Re: I didnt know it had gotten this bad. . .
It never really bothered me (I'm 16, there are lots of them around) until a kid I was talking to told me a friend of his was going to drop a "skyline engine" into his civic and put out 550 HP. I couldn't begin to explain why this made absolutely no sense, so i said, "sweet, that will be fast!"

Re: I didnt know it had gotten this bad. . .
I had someone last night try to convince me that he had put a Subaru WRX engine in a Saturn. Even his friend thought he was an idiot for that one. THe friend seemed genuinely interested and somewhat knowledgeable about my STi, but it was all I could do to not laugh at the Saturn WRX.

I agree there is mad technology and they can use it, but you say you can do it with smaller ENGINEs... not smaller engines with a CRUTCH. (FI).
I wouldn't mind a blower or turbo, but you have to admit 600hp NA is more impressive/harder to achieve that 600hp with FI. WTF does who made the first car have anything to do with this discussion? But thanks for the cool fact though Gah, back on topic.

S54B32-3.2L, 333HP Now, unless there is a secret Turbo that BMW isn't telling anyone about... And with modern technology taht even the domestic types have...if you cant get 100hp per liter of a 6.0 V8, then I would be rather miffed...And 600HP NA is impressive. But it still looses to 900HP FId.

Haha, I just about shit myself trying so hard to hold in a laugh during a speech for finals in Business/Professional Speech. This guy was debating Fords > GM and he said that Ford built the first automobile. My roommate and I snickered, so did his fiancee who is learning a good bit about the automotive sector.
Later on another stated that GM > Ford, my roommate debated Imports > Domestics and I just went over the benefits of racing in organized events.

Re: I didnt know it had gotten this bad. . .
depends what gen corolla it was, the 4agze corolla comes with about 180 hp and with s/c like yours, it should've p0wned u no probs, its also about 400 lbs lighter than ur 01' cavy, also, the AE-92 FWD Corolla comes with 200 hp stock, im not sure which 01 cavy you have, but my seventh gen corolla has as much hp as the 01' cavy base models, depends on which gen of corolla you saw, but if you had a big exhaust on ur cavy, i wouldn't care who you are, i'll try to race you somehow, unless ur scared? no offence, but if a slower car reved at me, like that corolla or eclipse did to you, i'd hit the throttle to show who's boss around here, one way or another....know what im saying...

I think we both make valid points but honestly either of us will not change our views... While its on my mind, heres a quick joke: What is the difference between a 900hp Supra, a 1000hp Supra, and a 1200hp Supra? They all run 12sec 1/4 miles

lol a 180HP corolla should have pwned me? I should be right around 220HP-215HP at the crank if not more. And you know for some reason, maybe it was when he reved it and i didnt hear a supercharger, i realized it was a piece. Maybe also when i heard the eclipse behind me rev and didnt hear a turbo i know it was a piece. Ricers dont buy fast cars, they buy the low models of fast cars. See you would rev at slower cars cause you have a slow car and your a ricer. Ricers rev at eachother in the driver though of Mcdonalds to show off how cool they are. If i wanted to act like a dumb 16 year old with a big exhaust and aluminum wing i would have reved at them. I also ignore races of slower cars, why risk getting a ticket for a car that i know i will beat? Trust me im not scared of a 4 banger, theres only a handful of those that i fear, but i would still love to race. So yes i get exactly what your saying, you prolly do that too. Rev at cars while in the drive though of McDonalds. The way your defending how these guys acted and admitting that you would do exactly what they were doing, shows that your pretty much a ricer. I know you call yourself ricer, but i always thought that was just a joke. |

But....I also kinda disagree. The LS1 is by far the most advanced pushrod motor yet. Pushrod. The BMW makes that power with a completely different engine design. The arguement is void on that alone. GM could advance how they do things. But pushrod motors keep costs down and perform just as well. There is technology used in the LS1. I mean, look at how efficiently it makes its power. I got over 30 MPG on the highway with a motor that made 350+ crank power. Not saying the BMW's don't have at least as much technology. It is just used in different ways on different applications.
