What the hell are you people talking about? a 92-96 prelude Si has 160hp and the VTEC has 190hp.
but i love torque and the Z even the 2+2 have plenty of it, 198 ft-lbs.
The prelude vtec has 158 ft-lbs. and with the vtec, i doesn't really but it feels like it takes away the torque..... i love the feel of torque.... but i could get the prelude Si and it has the torquey feel but it has only 160 hp. The horsepower and torque make up for the 3313 lbs. of car. The prelude weights 2866 lbs. that is only 447 pounds difference. Yeah that would be a big difference if the Z only had like 10 more horsepower and torque. But the Z has 32 more hp. and 40 more ft. lbs. of torque, that is a pretty decent stretch.

Yes, I am planning on modifing which ever one i get.......
I've done the research and things are about the same for every car....... and i can get a Z for the same amount as a prelude , even in great condition. I have saved up 11000 not counting the price of the car so i don't think i'll have money issues with the mods on either car.

I made a mistake with the weight because we europeans donīt use lbs, we use kg. Sorry!
Okay, the Z weighs 3313lbs (which translates into 1500kg ) and has got 222hp. A 5th gen Prelude weighs 2866lbs (which translates into 1300kg ) and has got 200hp. So the Z weighs 447lbs (200kg!!)more than a Prelude while it only has got 22 horses more. The Z may feel torquier (??? is that word right???) but Iīd bet itīs not much faster if itīs faster at all. And I donīt think that a 3313lbs car handles that well. And the Prelude has got a better mileage....

See I don't even think we have the prelude type s (JDM) here, so the 200hp does not apply....but yeah i'm going for either the prelude vtec or the 300 Z twin-turbo (300hp ,198ft.lbs) now i'd like to see a prelude compete with that but it would be pointless to put a non turbo up against a turbo..... but even if the prelude was turbo charged still probably wouldn't stand a chance (even the type s)........

Uhm,....!? Iīll try it again. The 5th gen USDM Prelude has got 200hp while the JDM Prelude has got 220hp !!!!! Got it?
And yea, the 300ZX TT will be faster than both Preludes but I still donīt think that itīs worth it. Itīs still a heavy a$$ car which needs a lot of fuel and itīs not really fast for this size of engine, too. Buy a NSX then....

I think that if you go out and test drive both, you will know which one you want...

jay's right, drive at least two of each if you can (you never know how hard something's been driven, especially sport cars).

the Zx: heavy, eats gas, expensive parts...hmmm...unique??
the lude: not heavy, descent gas mileage, parts not expensive as the Zx and it is becoming unique...

With an Intake, Shortshifter, and Exhaust, you could beat a 300zxTT? Or are you talking about the non turbo?

Well i'm going with the prelude vtec b/c i couldn't find a 300zxTT for sale that i liked and also the prelude is cheaper in price and a found a vtec for sale that i am absolutley in love with ....

Whprelude i am glad you were is bullshitting around b/c (me liking preludes just the same as 300zx') we all know a TT could beat a prelude..... everyone knows that and that is just plain ridiculous to even say that....... Yes total Prelude Power (or whatever) but you know that preludes and 300zx's are not even in the same catagory..... 4 cyl. , V6........ and a 300 is more of a muscle car (not american muscle) and a prelude is a quick , nice, efficient sports car, that can beat tons even stock ..... yes it could be done (a prelude beating a TT) but that is if the TT was completely stock and the prelude completely wasn't, and we all know that.
