Mine is kept as low as possible, and I have the display on the stereo dimmed, so its nice and dark when driving at night, especially on the highway, or where there is no traffic.
I love the dark. And if people are wondering how I see the speedometer?, well I dont. I can tell how fast im going by the note of the engine. Im usuially within 5km/h of my guess when I check my speed. Since my car has no other useful gauges, I dont need the dash for anything else. I have a mass of idiot lights to tell me stuff, they suck but the dash gauges are innacurate anyways.

Mine can get pretty bright. I have indiglo gauges but, on long rides, I turn them down. The only ones that I like to keep bright is the Pioneer radio and in-dash changer.

Haha.. Mine is COMPLETELY dark, except for the speedometer, and if anything should happen, the warning symbol ligthens up.. Cause I've got NightPanel.. And which ingenious car has that.. Saab of coarse.. hehe..
 But seriously, its really smart.. Keeps your eyes on the road!
