Re: HyPsi87

I too am the father of two sons and I know how I would feel if something like this happened to my family. Many people have said that you can see the parents in their children and if Andy was any indication then his parents are some of the best.

When something like this happens, it reminds us just how fragile life can be. Our only comfort is knowing that he will live on it the memories of his friends and those who dearly loved him. He has touched hundreds of people lives both through this forum and by just being himself.

May God bless your family in this hour of grief and may we all be stronger for having known this special person.

Lynn

Re: HyPsi87

Although I never really talked to him on the message board, whenever he did pop in to say something he would always add a light hearted message to the topic. I would just think to myself 'man, what a cool guy'. He was the kind of person I took for granted, one of the few genuinely good guys on a message board of this size.

Whether he was in a close relationship, or just helping someone out on the board, or simply just adding a nice message to a topic, he affected everyone on this board. He could not have lived any better, and we'll always have that.

Re: HyPsi87

I feel like everyone has said my thoughts word for word. I never met him personally, but it is amazing how close the internet can make you feel to a person so far away. We were all terribly sad and shaken up to hear about his death, he was a great guy and will truly be missed.

Thanks for taking the time to post in here. Best wishes for you and your family.

Jeff, I am truely sorry for your loss.

There were countless times that I would be having a crappy day and just reading something that Andy wrote would bring a smile to my face. So many people struggle with trying to be a better person to the people they interact with everyday. Your son had the ability to brighten up the lives of people he had never met from hundreds of miles away.

He will be greatly missed.

Frankie

Re: HyPsi87

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

Jeff, I never got to know Andy, but I remember his posts and his humour. I am so sorry for your loss. It's amazing to see how many lives he touched just by being here. He will truly be missed.

Hey All,
I am forever grateful to see his impact on this forum, and with your response back to me also...all your kind words help me get off the floor
to continue on.
Not only was Andy intense into automotive, he was very active in the
Youth Group at Church also...many people looked up to him that way
as well. The "YGP" they called themselves, Youth Group Posse. I really don't know where Andy found time to do all he did?
No wonder his room was always a mess
There were over a thousand people at the visitation, people were saying
they stood in line over an hour.
Friday morning was the funeral, and the funeral procession was (according to police assistance) approx. 2 miles long - 70 cars -
The Funeral Director said," That was by far the largest funeral attendance
I have ever dealt with, what an incredible young man he must have
been.
I will stay as a member here, though I won't be here to fill his shoes
only to follow his foot steps...

" Thank You All "
Now git off this damn computer, And git back to work on that car or go do a burnout or whatever !!!

My name is Jason Loftus, and I'm Andy's uncle from his mother's side. Andy and I where only 13 yrs apart in age and connected with each other on many levels. He was like my little brother and I was like his big brother, which was some thing niether one of us had. I considered Andy one of my VERY best freinds and he considered me the same.

Andy's mother and father have decided for me to get Andy's GN. When it came to that car I was there in the begining for Andy and co-signed the loan. I helped him plan the mods, buy the parts, and install them through the different stages of the cars progression. It will now be Andy's turn to be there for me. I have to finish what we started, I have to set it up in a way that Andy would have wanted, I have to set the car up in a way that it will be a worthy memorial of a priceless young man.

In the world of Turbo Buick performance the bench mark is a full Buick Motorsports Stage 2 set up. This is the motor that most Buick GN guys don't even dream of because its out of reach. This was one of Andy's dreams and he actually had a small start towards this goal. I have decided to put my personal project on hold and to build a top notch memorial in Andy's name. I'm going to put a full stage 2 motor in Andy's old GN and set the car up to handle the 850 to 1000 hp the motor will be making. I have only 10 months to do this because its important to me to take the car next May to the Buick Nationals in Bowling green Kentucky and race it. This is a lofty goal and will be very challenging for me time wise and finacially. Anything short of what I want to do would be easier in comparison, and that just wouldn't be worthy of Andy.

So we will come full circle on this car, and Andy will have to be there for me now. He'll have to be the calm breeze that cools me down when I get too worked up. He'll have to be the ray of sun shine that cheers me up when I'm getting down. He'll have to be the rainbow in the sky that reminds me that journey's can lead you towards beautiful things. He'll have to be the co-pilot when his car hits the track in Kentucky. I know he'll be there the whole way and help me see it through. I know he'll be there in Kentucky and when the tree goes green I'm going to look over to the passenger seat and say "Let's turn her lose Andy, let's turn her lose!"

Uncle Jason
