Re: Help with Air!
I had it removed today but here is my question. He told me before putting the new r134 adapters to put a screwdriver on the low service port. Now wouldn't all the freon be out by this time or is he just trying to cover his tracks?I had the ac on and its hot so i am assuming its out plus it only took about a minute for him to do it.

Re: Help with Air!
Ok hooked up the gauge the first time after retrofitting the high and low adapters and it read 5.I called a different shop they told me to go ahead because thats allowable in the gauge reading.I inserted about a quarter can of it in and the guage shot in to the red.I stopped called back they told me to bleed the 134 out then put rest of can in.So i had them bleed it out then i went and filled it up up.First can and a half compressor only clicked on and off. Then with the third can the compressor finally came on all the time.Another note was how the gauge went into yellow but when it clicked it went to blue then when it finally came on all the time it stayed steady at the blue on the gauge and the air is cool not ice but cool.It feels like my r12 last summer which is good.Should i check pressure in a day or so to make sure i have no leaks.I looked at the system and no dye came out of it anywhere i could see so i do not have any leaks and the high side port adapter cap is on snug because you can not tighten it beyond or it goes loose.Overall one of the easiest things ever to do to this truck after getting everyone fired up.Sorry about that but its better now and i do not smell oil except at stop lights and stop signs.Which is huge improvement.

Re: Help with Air!
You aure you are using refrigerant with oil?
Also, yes, check it again in a bit. You are refilling it with the AC on max and the fan on full blast right?

Re: Help with Air!
You only need to use the low pressure side to refill.

Re: Help with Air!
i know but you have to convert the high side. It comes with its own special adapter. You put it on then the cap and forget it.
