Re: Denver Pit Bull Owners in a Panic Over Ban

Ban ignorance not pit bulls.

How about adopting a better policy to do extensive background searches on the individuals wanting to own a pit bull and see if it is an environment that will not make the dog prone to become vicious. But of course just ridding the world of the breed is the easier way out.

Actually not at all similiar. It would be more like two miniature poodles mauled a women to death, and severely injured a man who tryed to save her. Several months later another miniature poodle attacks a group of children some of which had to be hospitalized, then less than a year later, another person is killed by a miniature poodle.

Miniature poodles can be pretty fiesty mean dogs, but let's be honest with ourselves, how often do they actually kill people? Pitt Bulls kill people, and it's not like when this happens it's a freak happening. I don't think Denver is going about solving the problem the right way, but I'm not going to blame them for reacting. As for the owners, if they don't want their dog to be singled out for being violent and vicous, then they should have given it some consideration and not gotten a dog that is constantly singled out for being violent and vicous (even though a good deal buy them because they want "the meanest dog on the block" which is the whole problem in the first place).

Re: Denver Pit Bull Owners in a Panic Over Ban

I live close to another town that has a simliar ban on pitbulls. Last week in the local paper some women has 19,000 dollars in fines for not putting their dog to sleep. It's a 60 dollar a day fine till she has the dog put to sleep. The dog so far has attacked 3 people.

I do agree with the ban and also the owners should be fined or put in jail for not controlling their dog. If the dog owners had control of their pets this would never happen.
