You will NEVER see any chrome on my Jeep, except maybe on diamond plating and I dont know about that yet I need to see more pics. Any bumpers or cages I get will be black, or black powder coated!!!!!

Re: Does chrome belong on a CJ,YJ,or TJ?

I'll have to attach a picture of the Jeep I just bought. It came with chrome bumpers that the previous owner put on. It's a badass looking machine, but I only say that because of the lift, 12.5'' wide wheels, and thick ass bumpers. Personally, I think they are just bumpers... they work the same. If I had money to waste I might powder coat them... but I'd rather save for a winch. PM me if you want a pic.

Re: Does chrome belong on a CJ,YJ,or TJ?

My 88 YJ has chrome and diamond plate on just about everything possible. Why? Cause it looks good when it's all cleaned up and the tops down.
don't think for a second it won't jump off in the mud and rip it up. It loves doing that. I just spend a week and clean it up again.

Re: Does chrome belong on a CJ,YJ,or TJ?

Well I am new to this online posting thing but I am a legend int he jeep world... I race uphill mud climbing in Pa with my 97 wrangler and I will very soon have a 07 4 door wrangler... Honestly if you are a jeep owner and you want to call yourself one then you need to understand the quote "My Jeep" I don't care if your a redneck with a 79' cj 5 with holes in the floorboards and 24 inch lift or if your a thug gangster in new york lowering your jeep with spinners the jeep creed is to be yourself... pesonally my SOR is completely Scorpion sprayed and my new one will be Rhynoed on the inside and on whatere bumpers I get... I don't like the chrome but I like seeing you make your jeep yours so if you like it... Chrome the whole thing... Just don't try racing me you'll lose...

On My 99 Wrangler, I Plan On Diamond Plating The Hinges On The Door And Hood, maybe The Mirrors Too. Rhynoing The Front And Back Bumpers And Steps, Along With The Flares. Chrome Is Good In Moderation, But I Have Always Thought A Nice Touch Of Chrome Adds Class To A Vehicle, As Well As Making It Your Own, As Posted Above. My Front Grill Came With A Chrome Overlay When I Got It, But I Took It Off About Three Minutes After It Was Off The Lot, Simply Because I Thought It Was Too Much. This Summer I Plan On Dragonfly Eyein The Paint Job, Putting A New Softop On(black), And Lifting It About 6 Inches (not A Body Lift). Tons Of Work, Just To Make It Mine.but I Love To Use My Hands, And I've Been Working On Cars Since I Was Twelve, So Hooray For Me. And I Love My Jeep.

Ps. People Who Drive Jeeps But Don't Wave At Me Get The Finger Once They've Passed. I Know, Kind Of Rude, But They Were Too

1st : Jeep will not void the warranty if used off road. I work at a Jeep dealer and we have warranted several things that were broken off road. The key to getting it covered is that it has not been abused or used in competition.

2nd: Chrome does look good on any vehicle when used in the right places and not over used.

3rd: Chome plated metal is way more durable than a painted sutface. So things that are painted and going to take abuse, Chrome is a good alternative.

Re: Does chrome belong on a CJ,YJ,or TJ?

I've got one of those chrome front grill covers that was on my 04 SE when i got it, and my jeep is Electric Lime Green Pearl. I had a chance to park right next to another jeep the same color with out the chrome front cover, and believe i'll keep it on.

Besides some chrome does look good an any jeep, and some of you remind me of a guy i knew that used to drive a Hunter green Ford Pinto, that had some funky orange hubcaps on it when he got it, drove the car for a year and never changed anything on it, maybee he was affraid of change.
