Re: found an I-ROC

thats what i would think too but according to thirdgen.org is in the teens. I forget what exactly. Heres another question....Has chevy ever put out an iroc with a 350 and a manual transmission? I dont think so because the t5 wouldnt hold it. Another guy around me says he has an all original 87 iroc with a 350 and a manual trany. Please say im wrong though because that would be perfect. He also says it has 60000 original miles because he got it at an estate sale......so ill be the judge of that when i go to check it out. It sucks cuz all the nice irocs that im seeing on autotrader are over 100 miles away. This is the closest one. So we shall see.

I don't think they did. It was either in '87 or '86 Chevy's fuel injection couldn't handle a standard and all that was offered was an automatic.

Re: found an I-ROC

to the untrained eye, or someone who dosnt know about camaros/firebirds, they see a small block V8 and assume its a 350, its probly a TPI 305 with the 5 speed, still no slouch, but not a 350. as it has been said, no IROC left the factory with a T5 and a 350.

but a tpi 305 with the manual with only 60000 miles would definatly be a good buy. before i found the IROC i bought i was seriously looking at a similar car to the one you see. what kinda price is he asking?

Re: found an I-ROC

how about this beauty....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6161

already painted, unmolested, and youd have to email him to find out, but i think the only CD player radio it came with from the factory was the bose sound system, so if its a factory CD player thats also a great option to find. rather rare, only 4500 cars in 89 got that option. so for a 5.7L TPI IROC in that condition, 4800 bucks is a steal.

Re: found an I-ROC

hes asking $3495. This is a guy that seems to have a small time specialty car and boat business. Im quite suspiscious but i hope its true that it has 60000 miles. He said that he got it from an estate sale. Whatever that means.

And about the iroc on ebay.....looks freakin sweet.....but its 3000+ miles away. But that is an excellent example of what i have to find.

Re: found an I-ROC

Ya know thats not a bad idea....I wish i wouldve done it about 7 months ago though. I saw an iroc on ebay with only 56000 miles and a paxton supercharger for only 5 grand. He was in Ohio. I was sad for a little while after that. Theres one out there somewhere....

Re: found an I-ROC

lol, i was just elbowing ya, what i did was pretty reckless, i only took a backpack with a notepad, cash, casheirs check, and some axe body spray. no cell phone, no tools. i went down on the bus, checked the car out, test drove it, put it on a lift, bought it, and drove it home. 1100 miles, and the transmission let go as soon as i pulled in the driveway. youd need to find one helluva trustworthy car to go get it and drive it 3000 miles home. im a dumbass, dont be like me

Re: found an I-ROC

and for the love of god, dont do 36 hours on a greyhound bus, plan ahead and get a plane ticket, trust me on this one...... or if you buy a semi trust worthy car, use a chase car to follow you home in case of a breakdown, and have someone with a cell phone and a tool kit handy.
