500 horse at the flywheel can be accomplished on a LT1 as well without using a power adder. I have seen plenty of cars with a comp cam 306 profile and some ported or after market heads with a matched intake and some headers with a catback system and intake done up with a nice tune putting out that kinda power but its always easier if you use a charger or turbo or a little nos.

As long as you buy quality parts and mod the car completely and equally (like if you increase fuel , you increase the air induction as well) either will be completely dependable. My car makes like right at the 500 mark and it starts right up and if your not nailing the gas will get around 20 -22 highway and like 17 - 18 city.

I'll do you one better, I am going to be making a video within the next few days, I am just waiting for my new hood to be put on but I recently installed my Vette block LT1 383 with a comp cam 306 profile done up with forged internals and fully ported heads. I took 97camarors for a ride last week, he can confirm the fact that this bitch can break the rears loose pretty much up to tripple digits.
