Re: 4th Gen - Comfort Compared to 3rd Gen

well the car has about 150,000 miles on it, but it has a rebuilt jasper engine in it with about 30,000 miles on it. she runs like a top. although is in need of an exhaust and a transmission overhaul, which i might have done before i sell her, but obviously that will drive the price up.

The damage in the other thread was from hitting the volvo, i fixed all of that damage, exept the point behind the driver side door. the body damage it has now is no where near as severe as those pictures were. right now im replacing the K-member as the welds on the suspension mounts broke in the accident. im also putting a new starter on it because that broke too.

I have already been asked about it by my friends girlfriend though, so your second in line at this point if youre interested. She's got first dibs unless you want to start a bidding war

Ive also got a torsen rear with 3.23 gears that i am willing to sell with the car for an additional sum

Dont even try to start winning the bid war, she can sleep with him so she'll be able to get her friend to get the car, its useless!

Well you probably could do it in a 4th gen because they're both hatchbacks and I dont know how much less space is on a 4th gen, so im guessing it would still fit. I think 3rd gen back seats are really comfortable, dont know why..

Thats what i found out about 3rd gens too. With the back seat folded down, you sure can hold some shit in there, and can make it easier for kinky sex. May have sore backs afterwards though.

Best thing you could do is like take the back seat out, put like a futon or something in there and then no problem huh?

I knew I came to this forum for a reason!

I'm 6' I have plenty of room in the front seats of my 3rd gen. The seats are comfortable too. The back seats are comfortable as long as the front seats are as far forward as possible and tilted forward. There is enough room in the back though... back in high school I hauled around three people back there. Just remember if someone is sitting on the hump.... hit all the pot holes.

"hit all the pot holes." Priceless.

Anyone know what made GM go with hatchback designs for the later gens?

Hm...You know it's a real good question about what made GM goto hatchbacks instead of a trunk..well maybe they were thinking about more space! Needless to say I can fit 4 tires in the back with the seats folded down (Had to do it once because need to change tires!)
