2004 srt4 with a problem...HELP! - Page 2

well--i just got my car back from the dealership and yeah, the spark plugs and wires make her run a little better, but when i slow down, my rpm's go up to 2000!!! it did this before, but technically, my problem isn't fixed. i was told that maybe the cause of the high rev is a dirty egr valve? would that make sense? this is too complicated......

Does it ever idle down right? Sounds like another trip to the dealer. I've been thinking of getting an srt4 but unsure now.

it used to idle at about 850-900, but now its anywhere from damn choking (300) to 2200 rpm. its insane and im pissed. im takin the stupid thing back to the dealership again today.....i told them to keep it until it's fixed. dont get me wrong, srt4=awesome! i love her......she's just actin up. i just can't believe the dealership can't "diagnose" her......ridiculous. they think im some idiot because i'm 19 and a female....so they take everything i say with a grain of salt, but i promise you they'll regret it! ive had it with this dealership crap. i almost wanna fix it on my own.

The rpm's jumping around actually sounds like spark plugs, but you say they replaced them. What about the wires? A dirty or clogged EGR valve, would cause your car to stall, crank slowly, but I don't know about jumping rpm's. Sounds like you may want to find another dealer, considering they told you, that you disconnected your rev limiter

its the TPS i gaurentee it!!!!!! that is a very very very common srt. i cant think of one of my homies who hasnt had it (other than the brand new 05ers). take it in, make them pay for a rental car for you (thats part of your warranty) and dont accept it back til its fixed. when they have to pay, they fix it real fast

okay so the dealer told me today that a rental car isnt covered under my warranty.....and like i said earlier, they ran a dyno on all my sensors and they said the tps was fine......i dont know what else to tell them, but i did tell them when i dropped the car off today that i was in a rental car (actually driving my moms car) and that i needed the damn thing fixed asap. im thinkin bout takin it to another dealer in easley to get a second opinion.....they also "checked" the egr valve and said it was fine too......i think theyre bsin me.......im gettin aggrivated though and i dont know what else to do or say........but theyre still saying the rev limiter is disconnected.....thats not the problem is it?? tex----where u located?! i need YOU to come with me!! you know what your talkin about and theyd listen to you!!!! caitlyn

haha, sorry sweetheart. im here in beautiful california. honestly, you need to log onto the srtforums.com. register there, and one of those guys (who know just as much as myself, and have had just as much experience) will be totally willing to go with you and help you out. you might also want check out another dealership. i know i specified when i got my car that i would get a rental. check your warranty, the dealer can pull that up for you about that though. i thought it was standard warranty for their 3-3600 warranty. get with a local enthusiast (on the national sartie forum) and he/she will be able to help you out. they are all great people. i love them all

okay---well, damn you and california!!! haha, roadtrip?! anyway---i took my car back to big o friday and said it was unacceptable and i wasnt going to take the damn thing back until they fixed it to my satisfaction (yes--i can be a bitch!). they told me that under my warranty, i didnt "purchase" the rental car thing, so whatever---im driving my moms jag (sucks to be me right?). well, they told me the car was going to be fixed that friday---service shop closes at 1730. i called at 1700 because i didnt hear anything from them and guess what the hell the f***ing problem was?!?! none other but the g*d damn tps. oh my god, am i pissed! you were right and i relayed my "knowledge" to them, and they didnt listen! i am going to take it to another dealer when i get it back (supposedly today) and see if they could ever help my with some problems i might have. on a positive note, I GOT FREE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES! haha, i guess i wont need to change those until about 80000 miles! (also got my oil changed!) well--spyder girl, do i feel for you. big o dodge sucks and i dont care what anyone says. they are all idiots and sorry sorry people. i would take your car to mckinney on 123 in easley and talk to daniel black. he used to work at big o and he's probably the best guy out there that could help you. he'll hook you up too.......anyway, im assuming you bought an srt4? color and year??? maybe we could get together and go bullshit sometime!

oh, and tex--i tried to get onto srtforums.com a million times using different e-mail addresses and user id's and for some strange reason, it wont let me log in/on (whatever it is!). damn---im just full of problems!!!

Dunlop Sport and Falken Azeni's are good tires!
