Thats news to me. I always thought power to weight ratio was based on power in horsepower and weight in pounds to determine the power to weight ratio. You divide one by the other.

BTW - Its going to be very difficult, if not impossible to drop off 1 second or more off the 0 - 60 mph times from a stock GTP compared to the experts at the magazines. Just my 2 cents. :2cents

I said that 0-60mph time GIVES YOU A GOOD IDEA of any given vehicle's power/weight ratio. When you divide them, it gives you a number like .090, or .088, or .114. And when you get to the .1 (tenth), it usually means that the vehicle gets to 60 in 5.0 seconds.

i.e. The GTP weighs about 3600 lbs. 260HP/3600lbs. = .072 (about the 6.6 seconds to 60mph).

A 2003 'Vette Z06 weighs approx. 3300 lbs. 405HP/3300lbs. = .122 (better than 5.0 seconds--closer to 4.5 seconds).

The formula works in most cases......

Looks good in theory and on paper but there's the realworld. The 3600 lbs (3583) on an '04 GTP is the curb weight. Who's driving the car?

BTW - On the '04 Corvette Z06 the curb weight was reduced and the 0 -60 mph time has been recorded as low as 3.91 seconds for whatever its worth.

Like Jim (KustomKid54) said we're not trying to give you a hard time but the spec. is meaningless to most of us GTPs owners because we're modded, not stock, and that includes a lot of the '04 guys. But if you want a calculated figure based on 0 - 60 ft times, 1/8 or 1/4 time, & trap speed I am quite sure a lot will be happy to weigh in and provide that info.

Yeah, I know they dropped the weight in '04, so it's a good thing I used the '03 as an example....

Well, thank you for the info; I appreciate it very much. I'm just completely shocked that no one has ever been interested in that stat (worthless or not). Time over distance is probably the best way to measure acceleration (1/4 mile), but I still find certain mph times compelling. Like the Enzo gets up to 100 mph in 6.6 seconds. I know that it does the 1/4 in like 9-10 seconds, but I find the earlier stat equally impressive.... Anyway, thank you all.

I am interested in the 0-60 but I have to have it calculated.

BTW I have shaved over a second off the stock GTP 0-60, LOL.

Now you're being too modest Jeff.

With the mods you've got isn't more like 2 seconds plus off the stock '04 GTP.

I still have 2 gauges I want to pick up. You just want the Wife to shoot me. I was told the other day, If one more package shows up..........
Told her, "don't go out for the mail in the next few weeks, and you'll feel better". She didn't think it was funny at all.

Although it could come in handy one day when someone asks you what's your 0 - 60 mph time??

I was just wondering whether the device actually works and to what degree of accuracy.
