We have an auto class at the vocational school, but the teacher is supposed to be less than great with cars and car knowledge. My cousin took the class and said it's a waste of time, so I didn't take it.

man that's too bad. i found out my instructor owns a nascar stock car, an alcohol funny car, and we've got a full chassis dyno at the school he said he likes to take students with him to be his pit crew. apparently hes fairly famous. has anyone ever heard of Mark Mahn(e)?

Not at my school. I wish we had a good program like that, I would be sure to take it. Not even for the degree, just learn how to work on the cars myself.

*Our teacher has an old Porsche, and a first generation Camaro, but everyone says he can't teach you for crap, you're better off with a Hayne's manual.

My automotive educational system.... evesdrop on conversations at car shows. Cuz you have all the old people with money talking about what they had to do with this or that to get it goin and pull out an extra .2 in the quarter or what have you. They usually dont mind. They just nod at me and keep on goin and ill throw a question in here or there. I like car people.

oh yeah ....and haynes manual... somewhat important(very much so)...

Porsches are so nice...i almost bought an 88 944 turbo...sweet car....but i couldnt bare the thought of losing my camaro...and i couldnt afford the insurance.
