Re: Looking for the name of an Air Intake
Get a cheep ebay one, put a good filter on it and you wont notice any differnce in it and a $300, like spoon said, its an intake not a serious power adder. Buck for buck you'll come out ahead buying the cheepest one in this case.

Another question if i may. About how much would i go about spending on a 1 piece CAI of AEM or the brand the other guy mentioned on the first page? I believe it was Injen. Just a ballpark figure so i can start browsing some webpages/calling some performance shops. Thanks again, you guys are a great help ^.^ |

Re: Looking for the name of an Air Intake
Just get a shortram intake and put a decent filter on it like TSC said... Why? It's a bit of a pain in the ass to keep taking the bottom piece off all the time. The reason is because you kind of have to feed the tubing together so that it meshes smoothly to the throttlebody and tighten the screws a tad first on the clamps then tight from filter to tb...
BTW, the water by-pass is a POS. Mine came apart so it's held together by sheet metal screws under the foam. It's mainly just a precaution because I like to drive to unusual places.

Re: Looking for the name of an Air Intake
I emailed that company that sold me the CAI and showed them a pic of it. I got a response that said it looked like a "Tsudo" CAI. I cannot locate any on the Internet though... oh well.

Let's say i had a single solid CAI piece, and its raining outside bad. Would it be a bad idea to take the tube off, and have the filter just on the manifold directly just for the weather to clear up? Seems like it would dirty the filter way faster than intended, but thats why i ask. =]

Honestly, as long as your filter is secured to the tube, you'd have to drive through at least a foot of water where every little spore and nook was submerged in water to hydrolock your engine. If you're so low to the ground for something like that to happen you probably have other issues to deal with like blown struts, camber problems or tire wear...LOL...

Search Google for "tsudo air intake" and you'll come up with a ton of hits. |
