No, I was talking about the wheelchair ramp. You know, know of a couple of guys that are running 10's. But that takes alittle work. You know talking about that. Knew I keep this for a reason; Performance Recipes How fast is my L67-powered car in stock form? We get asked this question all the time, so we’re going to give this our best shot… If you have a ’97 to ’02 GTP or GS, your car will run about 14.8 in the quarter mile in stock form. There are lots of variables here, but this is a realistic average based on our experiences. If you have an SSEi, your car will be about one second slower. The Bonneville’s are only a few hundred pounds heavier, but they are slower for several other reasons too: additional weight (several hundred pounds) poor weight distribution for drag racing (things like the battery in the back seat, aluminum hood, aluminum control arms and aluminum front bumper all work to reduce the percentage of weight on the front tires, resulting in less traction during acceleration) larger front brakes (more rotating mass reduces power put to the ground) larger tires and wheels (increased rotating mass takes more power to accelerate) restrictive PCM (much more aggressive traction control system cannot be overridden by simply pulling a fuse; PCM will actually retard ignition timing if you try to power-brake the car) no Performance Shift function (so shift points are lower and shifts are slower) no air opening behind the headlight means that removing the headlight won’t give you any cold air The Regal GS is slightly (a couple tenths) slower than a similarly equipped GTP, for some of the same reasons as the SSEi. There are MANY different possible paths to get you to a certain performance goal. Following are some EXAMPLES of recipes that we know work: How can I get my GTP or GS to run in the low fourteens? one step colder thermostat (180 degrees) one heat range colder spark plugs (AC Delco 41-932 or Autolite 605 or NGK TR55) cold air induction 3.40” supercharger pulley How can I get my GTP or GS to run in the high thirteen’s? two heat ranges colder spark plugs (AC Delco 41-919 or Autolite 104 or NGK TR6) cold air induction 3.25” supercharger pulley INTENSE 1.90:1 rocker arms/pushrods package free-flowing cat-back exhaust How can I get my GTP or GS to run in the low thirteen’s? two steps colder thermostat (160 degrees) two heat ranges colder spark plugs (AC Delco 41-919 or Autolite 104 or NGK TR6) cold air induction 3.10” supercharger pulley INTENSE 1.90:1 rocker arms/pushrods package SLP headers, downpipe and free-flowing cat-back exhaust DHP PCM mix of unleaded race fuel drag radial tires How can I get my GTP or GS to run in the high twelve’s? two steps colder thermostat (160 degrees) three heat ranges colder spark plugs (Autolite 103) cold air induction ZZP throttle body 3.00” supercharger pulley Lucas 42.5 pound/hour fuel injectors INTENSE Stage 1 Blower cam/pushrods/rockers package SLP headers, downpipe and free-flowing cat-back exhaust DHP PCM mix of unleaded race fuel INTENSE Transaxle with INTENSE Limited Slip Differential and 3.29:1 final drive street slicks How can I get my GTP or GS to run in the mid twelve’s? two steps colder thermostat (160 degrees) three heat ranges colder spark plugs (Autolite 103) cold air induction ZZP throttle body ZZP supercharger 2.80” supercharger pulley Walbro fuel pump Lucas 42.5 pound/hour fuel injectors ZZP intercooler INTENSE Stage 2 cylinder heads INTENSE Stage 2 Blower cam SLP headers, downpipe and free-flowing cat-back exhaust DHP PCM mix of unleaded race fuel INTENSE Transaxle with INTENSE Limited Slip Differential and 3.69:1 final drive street slicks All the above numbers are GUIDELINES only, and make a few assumptions: We assume you race at a reasonable altitude. You won’t be able to match these times if your track is 5,000 feet above sea level for example. We assume that you race in good weather conditions. You won’t be able to match these times on a hot, humid day with low barometric pressure. We assume that basic race preparation is done to the car. Remove the spare, empty the trunk, remove the floor mats, race with a quarter tank of fuel, set your tire pressures properly, etc. We assume that you launch your car effectively. This is the most important part of the quarter mile race, and without a good launch, you will NOT be able to achieve your best E.T. Yep, alot of work.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What MOD to do next!?
Nice tips Jim (KustomKid54). Anythings possible but its all relative to how dinero $$$ you are willing to shell out. Money buys anything to include women.
Evidently, the L32 GTPs with the Series III 3800 takes to mods better than the older RPO L67. Must be that Eaton Gen 5 blower over the Gen 3 or that new electronic throttle control. The GM engineers must have done something miraculous to the FWD, drivetrain/gearing and 4T65E - HD tranny to sustain high 11 - 12 seconds runs. Sounds like a ticking time bomb to me. Just my 2 cents. ![]() At least I've made the 91K mile mark (no engine or tranny problems) on my GTP without destroying the resale value. ![]() Thrasher CAI, DHP v1.0 ECU, Granatelli CAI Tuneable MAF, 3.4 SC pulley, Hi-Flow CAT, u-bend delete, 180 TS, TB spacer, MSD 8.5mm wires, AC Delco 41-932 spark plugs, Goodyear Gatorback Serp. & SC Belt ET: 14.3 @ 96 mph

Here: http://www.angelfire.com/rebellion2/...1.9_114mph.wmv rightclick and save No I have never blown a tranny/engine. if it does happen I will have to eat 3-600 on another shortblock, which isn't that bad. I have been to the track many times with consistant 114mph traps and no problems. Have fun sucking at modding! |

You know I really don't think that any one on the GP forum gives a hoot about you or your car. Plus you should think about improving your vocabulary or just stick to the Street Racer forum. That's twice you said that word. When you make it to 91K miles and 7 consecutive years at the dragstrip with your GTP actually winning money then come back and talk your B.S. Everything was fine on the message thread until you threw in your 2 cents and flamed everyone. The original poster was limited to a $500 budget and in the end made the right choice by not wasting a dime on his GTP. ![]() Thrasher CAI, DHP v1.0 ECU, Granatelli CAI Tuneable MAF, 3.25 SC pulley, Hi-Flow CAT, u-bend delete, 160 TS, TB spacer, MSD 8.5mm wires, Autolite 104 spark plugs, Goodyear Gatorback Serp. & SC Belt, Nitto NT555R Drag Radials ET/0-60 ft: Pending

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What MOD to do next!?
Sorry you have to resort to bashing my family.
Money is not a controlling factor in my life. I am sorry you are a slave to the dollar. I have fun riding in my modded grand prix, sorry you have not had the same experience. Sorry you can't accept the fact that it is possible to spend $500 on a Grand prix and be happy with the results. If you want to have a closed mind fine. Have a great day. |

I wouldn't think that money is a controlling factor in your life, especially if you don't have any and are depending on mom & dad footing the bill. Have fun riding in your GTP and have a nice life. As to experiences, I have more fun with this. Yes, its modded to the gills too but the only difference is it takes a real man to ride one and win. Haven't lost a single race the past year and a half in the Vet. class. BTW - I'm over 50 y.o. and started out with a 1970 Chevy SS454 LS6 which was a real musclecar. ![]()

I know you came from another part of this site, which is great. If you had spent a little more time here, you would know the people. The guys that have been here a while are pretty close. We email each other more then we are on here. OH, also. The one nice thing about old people. Have have the things in life already that we hope you do when you hit 50. I like to buy cars and hold them for my kids. I still have the 1966 GTO I bought in 1966. Also has less mileage then your o4. We enjoy cars. We enjoy the company of friends. If you are going to spend time here, relax, enjoy, have fun.

Why are you so interested in my money and my moms and pops?
A real man does not come on a message board to claim he is a real man. You are beyond help if all you see are stereotypes. Sorry you are so fargone. Nice bike. |
